I can't find at a quick search right now any statements on how long they plan to support Firefox 3.6, 4.x or 5.x. I find it hard to believe that upstream will want to support releases on their new schedule for thirteen months. Their current plan is to release version 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0 all within 2011. It would be a support nightmare on their part to continue support beyond security fixes for more than two or three releases continuously, which pretty much implies that at some point Fedora will need to update mid-life in order to retain support. It appears that Mozilla upstream is going to force our hand here. Apparently, Mozilla declared Firefox 4 EOL alongside the release of Firefox 5 [1]. Something like what happened with MS-DOS (for those who remember, DOS 4.0 bombed a bunch of hard drives, actually destroyed a bunch of data.) BTW, FF5 does look and feel 'better' than FF4. In the former you will see an update in the F15 tree to 5.0 commited 5 hours ago. No official package has been built yet, but it seems likely that Fedora 15 will get firefox 15 before too long.
