That's a very long file... maybe someone can search a clue reading it. I
am unable to do something like that! Many thanks to whom could do that.

I am wondering if the problem is not related to the graphic card and its
driver (nvidia gtx 1050 ti, driver nvidia): as another guy told me that
this program worked fine under debian/xfce, I installed a vm with debian
9 and xfce. It works *but* if I enable the 3D acceleration for the guest
(which, according to the virtualbox help, is supposed to transfer to the
guest the 3D capabilities of the host), the program crashes as it does
on the host.

What can I do? Is it possible to disable the 3D capabilities of the
nvidia driver/card only for one program?

Yes no problem for this.

I installed an f27 with kde desktop on a vm and the program works

So, my conclusion is that it does not like xfce... How can I find out

Are you saying you never even get to the point where you need to enter
registration
information?

FWIW, I installed using "dnf install draftSight.rpm".   Just to make sure we're
installing the same rpm

[root@f27k egreshko]# sha256sum draftSight.rpm
12a75f492cd76acf1680d75c411a8fea0e0e704423b22d75006671e0cd3be668  draftSight.rpm

[root@f27k egreshko]# ll draftSight.rpm
-rw-rw-r--. 1 egreshko egreshko 619933672 Apr 28 22:03 draftSight.rpm

One thing I found a bit odd is that the binary is

[root@f27k Linux]# file DraftSight
DraftSight: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (GNU/Linux),
dynamically
linked, interpreter /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2, for GNU/Linux 2.6.24,

I will add that today I tried running the same program in a VM running GNOME
under
Wayland.

I was able to start the program, and activate it.  However, when starting after
activation the work window did show but it indicated an error/crash.

So, it would seem, the program isn't Wayland capable.

Well, I had a bit of time after all.

I downloaded the "beta" from the website as mentioned in the original posting.
Installed it on a fully updated F27 VM with "dnf install".

I then started it from the menu (KDE in my case) and followed the "activation"
instructions.  After clicking on the link that was sent to me I started the
application again and it started and displayed a screen that I've no idea how to
use.  :-)

So, I suppose, I could say it "works for me".

I am using KDE in F27 and Xorg.

I tried several times:

from the Applications menu: nothing happens

from command line: a splash screen appears, then a little dialog box
which disappears so quickly that you cannot read anything!

After destroying all (?) files written by the software in .config and
.cache directories, you may see the splash screen, then an information
window claiming that an incident happened which has been reported

From command line as root, I got that "something wrong happened and the
program was closed".

That's all I can say

Maybe someone else could get some other "information"

As Philip said: nobody never answers to mails sent to the company...

draftsight and f27

2018-01-13 Thread François Patte
Bonjour,

I installed draftsight on a previous f25 installation abd it worked well.

I upgraded to f27 and it is no more working... A splash screen appears,
then nothing happens and the only error message is:

Could not parse stylesheet of object 0x2b89e90

What does it mean and where can I find some help?

Thank you.

However in Windows 7 they are visible below the line reading

There are d/l links for Win 32, Win 64, Mac and betas for Fedora, Suse,

Sure. No problem.

The Firefox that is (will be) in Fedora 18 is 17.0.1 also so yes it is
the same one that you have. And it does not work with this site.

As a test I just tried the .tar.bz of FF 17.0.1 gotten directly from

I am not sure but something is obvioulsy being blocked. The actual link
for the Fedora type .rpm is

http://www.draftsight.com/download-linux-fedora

I just ran an update on the Fedora 18 install and it updates Firefox to
18.0 which is the official release version. It still does not work.

I installed the Firefox 18.0 Windows install, the official release, and
it displays the d/l icons. I am, and have been for months, using the
'Nightly' Firefox builds, currently 21.a1 and that was the one that I
tried when I first replied. A difference that i had not thought of but
it appears does not make a difference.

I see that you are using TB 17.0 BTW. There was a 17.0.1 bug fix update
and the current, official release ia TB 18.0.

IIWU? I would consider a post on Bugzilla.

Ogg: Re: Using Draftsight on a 64 bit system

Is anybody running on a 64
bit
 system??

I am...

What are the tricks to follow??

like
what?, cos all you really need to figure out is if your programs
have a 64bit
version...

 Tnx

Are you using Draftsight (that is 32 bit
application) on your 64 bit system??

I tried DraftSight many months ago while I was still running Fedora 14
x86_64 but never got it to run.

I'm working on packaging FreeCAD[1]*** on RPM Fusion, however, it's a
full solid modeling CAD, not just 2D. I'd be interested in
beta-testers though.

*** Disclaimer: While FreeCAD itself it GPLv2+/LGPLv2+ licensed, it
uses OpenCascasde which is non-free due to it's license, so FreeCAD
if/when approved will have to go into the RPM Fusion non-free
repository.

I'm running Draftsight on F14 x86_64 now; it seems to work fine. I don't
recall having to do anything particularly special, but it has been a while
since I installed it.

I didn't spend too much time trying to get it to work, it was probably
some 32-bit library I was missing. I decided that using an open source
program like FreeCAD which includes solid modeling (even if it uses
some non-free components) is still better than using something
completely proprietary.

2011-12-06 Thread Leonardo Silveira
you can also do ldd $(which draftsight) and see the missing libraries.
Then do sudo yum whatprovides for each missing lib.
