Debian unstable have opennebula 3.4.1 and next stable release (wheezy) will
have too.

Backport has old an 2.0.1 release (I will update repo with 3.4.1 when I'm
satisfied with current packaging).

Re: [one-users] better OS to install Opennebula

2012-05-26 Thread Nicolas Diogo
Thanks Oliver,

what is the best way to install opennebula on Debian 6 amd64?

using the packages available from opennebula.org or using a repo?

but it only exists on:

http://packages.debian.org/unstable/main/opennebula

which would require to add repo:
deb http://backports.debian.org/debian-backports squeeze-backports main contrib
non-free

is this a good practive?

thanks,

Re: [one-users] OpenNebula 3.4.1 : sched-cred not found! on Xen 4.1x after changed export XM_CREDITS to sudo $XM_PATH sched-credit

2012-05-26 Thread Javier Fontan
After you make changes to those files you need to issue "onehost sync"
command as oneadmin user. This will mark the scripts as dirty and will
be actualized in the nodes in the next monitoring cycle.

Thanks for tipping us about the sched-cred name change. We will add
this to the documentation.

[one-users] OpenNebula 3.4.1 : sched-cred not found! on Xen 4.1x after changed export XM_CREDITS to sudo $XM_PATH sched-credit

2012-05-26 Thread Roberto Giordani
Hello,
I've found that on xen 4.1x the command *sched-cred* was changed to
*sched-credit
*and I've changed on */var/lib/one/remotes/vmm/xen/xenrc
export XM_CREDITS="sudo $XM_PATH sched-credit"
*
but I'm still get the error as described below.
It seems that during xen deploy the script
/var/lib/one/remotes/vmm/xen/deploy
is not used! because if I comment the line
#$XM_CREDITS -d $name -w $credits

the log already report the error.

Any idea?
Regards,
Roberto.

[one-users] Import Xen Guest into OpenNubula 3.4.1 as a VM template

2012-05-26 Thread Roberto Giordani
Hello,
I'm testing *Opennebula 3.4.1 with OpenSUSE 12.1 x64 + XEN 4.1.2* where
is installed
opennebula-sunstone-3.4.1-1.1.x86_64
opennebula-zones-3.4.1-1.1.x86_64
opennebula-3.4.1-1.1.x86_64

I've a second host with some XEN VMs (Linux an Windows) that I would
like to use as VM template into OpenNebula.
I didn't found any documentation about this

This is important for me because I need to use some special VM converted
from P2V and I want to make available for end-user from Self-Portal

Any help will be very appreciate.

Regards,
Roberto.

thanks,

Re: [one-users] problem with VM monitoring (Xen + opennebula-3.2.1)

Hi,

This is fixed in OpenNebula 3.4+, see [1]. I think you should be able to
apply these changes [2] in 3.2 without any problems.

Regarding your question, you can't force a VM in the suspended state to be
monitored and restored to the running state, unless you change in the DB
the vm_pool columns lcm_state, state and the same xml attributes inside the
body column.

Hi,

I created a script (http://mif.vu.lt/~rolnas/one/) to correct problem
with failed/paused VM in opennebula-3.2.1. It works properly only on VM
with only one history record (deployed and running on one host and not
migrated or stopped/resumed to another). Of cause it should be run when
oned is stopped:

oneadmin$ one stop;./vm_runn VMID|./mysql2;one start

That is strange. We are using Xen + opennebula-3.2.1.
Around this time I rebooted VM from inside (in OS).
VM is really running.

How to push to continue monitoring, because it is not monitored anymore ?
