Hi,

maybe you are not stucked ...
Check the size of datafile
node3:/var/lib/one//datastores/0/17/disk.0

  If is
continuously increasing, everything works, but NFS is t
  slow :-)
(if target size is 30B, it can takes a hours, depends on

  Hello,

  I'm running a small

shared folder /var/lib/one/datastores, I am also able to
create files and then display them on all hosts via the share.
But when I start a VM creation

  After that, nothing is
responding anymore, I can't even access the datastore
directory at the host any more. Has anybody a clue?

  Thanks, Markus

[one-users] sunstone_auth and ec2_auth lost

2012-10-31 Thread Olivier Sallou
HI,
after deb package upgrade from 3.6 to 3.8 I lost the files suntone_auth
and ec2_auth in /var/lib/one/.one

How can I recover from this? I do not know the password of serveradmin.

I tried to change it via:

oneuser password serveradmin X

but it fails (just shows the usage).

I also see an error (not related):
Wed Oct 31 08:54:00 2012 [InM][I]: Monitoring host genokvm11 (26)
Wed Oct 31 08:54:00 2012 [InM][E]: Could not find information driver

It does not find the ganglia driver.

Thanks

You have to use

Otherwise, the password will be stored in plain.

 Should we remove it first?

Hi Olivier,

which one is the empty package? the 'opennebula' package has files in it,
as far as I can tell.

The '-node' package is described in the README.Debian package that comes

Re: [one-users] iSCSI recipe

2012-10-31 Thread Ruben S. Montero
Hi

Please note that the post/pre-migrate scripts are those from the
system datastore. Probably, they should be put in shared or ssh dir
and not in iscsi.

The description of the arguments are in here:
http://opennebula.org/documentation:rel3.8:sd

If you need to iterate over the disks in the template, you may be need
to use ruby or pythonn for this script. Or, if you assume that there
are no more than, let say 5 disks, you can get the first 5 diks using
VM/TEMPLATE/DISK[DISK_ID=0] and so on and work on them if they are
defined

 Ok

Know I see the point. We are doing something similar for attaching/detaching
an specific script is executed before and after the hypervisor. So I guess
this could be added. I've filled an issue for this and plan it in future
 versions

 http://dev.opennebula.org/issues/1419

Meanwhile, as you probably had already found out, you can modify the migrate
script to embed those TM scripts.

from the template and fire off the login or rescan on the dest host. ONE
has got to know this info in order to even notify libvirt/KVM to do the

abort if the script returns error.

Logout is not as critical to me. Worst case I have some hosts which iSCSI

have some sort of TM script that gets called after ONE detects successful
migration, but I could work around that on my own if it were not the case.

Note that OpenNebula cannot orchestrate the two libvirt/KVM hypervisors
doing the migration. When the first host is ready to stop running the VM
(memory has been sent to the second hypervisor, etc..) it executes the hook
(logout from the iSCSI server) and just right before starting rhe VM in the
second host the hook (login in the iSCSI server) is run. There is nothing
 we
can do to hook in that process.

We could however, include such scripts as part of the TM, distribute them
in the hosts, and put them in the right places...

Thanks. While I understand that the login/logout needs to happen on the

I seem to remember that if the similar events for non-persistent images

 Hi

For live-migrations the supported procedure is the libvirt hook, note
that live migrations requires a close synchronization between the image
movements, memory movements and the hypervisors. OpenNebula cannot perform
the login/logout from the iSCSI sessions there. Cold migrations are
 handled
by opennebula as part of the save and restore commands.

2012-10-31 Thread Ruben S. Montero
Hi

 kvm: -drive
 file=/var/lib/one//datastores/0/17/disk.0,if=none,id=drive-ide0-0-0,format=qcow2:
could not open disk image /var/lib/one//datastores/0/17/disk.0: Invalid
 argument

So, could you check that the file exists in the hostsand its readable
by oneadmin (/var/lib/one//datastores/0/17/disk.0). Just double
checking, the image has qcow2 format, right?

Which appears to be the return of the invalid argument error.

I did find a bug report with the same error, but this appears to have been
fixed a couple of months ago and I would think the 3.8 release would include
 these changes.

Yes this change is in 3.8. I'd recommend upgrading to 3.8.1, although
I believe your error is configuration related and not a bug

Cheers

 Hello,

I have installed the Ubuntu 12.04 packages for OpenNebula 3.7.80. After
installing the packages, I modified the sunstone config to listen on
 0.0.0.0.
After logging in I obtained the Ubuntu KVM Image from the OpenNebula
mearketplace, created a template with, 10 GB HDD, 1 GB swap, 1 CPU and 4
VCPUs, and no networking. When I create the image I get the following log
 entry.

/var/lib/one/datastores/0/1/deployment.0 does exist, however it is empty. I
have attached /var/lib/one/1/deployment.0 below the log. Running the
 failed /var/tmp/one/vmm/kvm/deploy
/var/lib/one//datastores/0/1/deployment.0 does not fail from the command
line, however, it doesn't appear to do anything either.

I did add the VM Host to the sunstone server, and it appears in a `onevm
 list`.

I found a couple of other threads on the mailing list where other users had
the same issue (the link escapes me at the moment), though the solution of
setting the user and group to oneadmin / cloud in the kvm config does not
 resolve the issue.

Any thoughts on where to start troubleshooting?

 Thanks,
 Jon
