[one-users] Backup and Restore

2013-10-31 Thread Soeren Malchow
Dear all,

i already searched the documentation and the mailing list, but did not come up
with an answer.

I would like to know how to backup virtual machines in OpenNebula WITHOUT
shutting the down, or if there is a solution at all.

We have an existing backup system that should be reused, exposure of the
virtual machines images files or something like that should be sufficient.

Can anybody point me into the right direction ?

Soeren

Re: [one-users] iSCSI Storage

2011-05-12 Thread Soeren Malchow

Hi Tino,

we will forward with iSCSI directly mounted on all nodes using GFS2 or
alternatively OCFS as Clusterfilesystem, preferrably OCFS cause its
easier to use.

We will definitly post our outcomes and the configuration

Hi Soeren,

What OpenNebula supports out of the box (and we've tried) is to mount
the iSCSI volume in the front-end, and then export it to the nodes
using NFS.

We just learned lately that it is possible to have the same volume
exported to different nodes, so in theory you can use the TM_NFS
drivers in conjunction with distributed FS like GFS2.

We would love to have some feedback on this, and are happy to provide
support along the way if you chose to go ahead with the iSCSI in all
the nodes option.
