OC debug command does not show command prompt

2018-06-06 Thread Brian Keyes
If I do a "debug in terminal" in the console I always get a command prompt

if i goto the command line and do a "oc debug i get this message

Debugging with pod/lster-1-2rqg9-debug, original command:
container-entrypoint /tmp/scripts/run
Waiting for pod to start ...
Pod IP: 10.252.4.18
If you don't see a command prompt, try pressing enter.

i hit enter many many times and do not ever get a command prompt

boto import command not found

2018-06-04 Thread Brian Keyes
I have a script that is running fine locally on my MAC , to run this script
on my MAC i just have to run the command "python run" ( run the the name of
my file ) and it will run fine

I have created a git hub repo at github.com/brikeyes/os-sample-python.git
and placed this working python file in the required path in github (
os-sample-python /.s2i
/bin
)

when I run this in openshift I get this error

"/tmp/scripts/run: line 1: import: command not found "

I get this also if I run it locally and do not include the word python in
the command like ./run , so I need to let it know how to run the script by
inserting the word " phython " right before it executes .s2i/bin/run

I know I have python installed as it is in the requrements.txt file in git
hub ,

it the proper way to export and restore an app ?

1. create the app

Re: Project created in command line does not show up in console

2018-05-31 Thread Brian Keyes
I have tried both ways to use this command

oc adm policy add-role-to-user admin ec2-user -n canyouseeme

oc adm policy add-role-to-user ec2-user admin -n canyouseeme

canyouseeme was created on the command line logged in as "ec2-user"

I still cannot see this project in the GUI console

thanks for the quick reply ,

I get this error when I attempt to run this in openshift portal

/usr/bin/container-entrypoint: line 2: exec: /tmp/scripts/run: cannot

I have 2 parts of the solutions and dont quite know how to glue them together

2018-05-24 Thread Brian Keyes
I have an STI image that I have added boto and aws cli to the
requiremtns.txt file

I can launch this in the Openshift CLI with "oc new-app
https://github.com/bwees/os-sample-python.git;

I then in the GUI get to the container shell and run this script manually
in python

import boto
from boto.s3.connection import OrdinaryCallingFormat

conn = boto.connect_s3(calling_format=OrdinaryCallingFormat())

count = 0

print ("Bucket names: ")

for bucket in conn.get_all_buckets():
print (bucket.name)
count = count + 1

print ("Total count of S3 bucket is ", count)

how can I combine this into one automated solution?

attempting BOTO3 in Openshift

this is my script

import boto3

for object in my_bucket.objects.all():
print(object)

this is the error I get

ImportError: No module named boto3

I know for a fact when i did this locally , I had to install BOTO3 before
running this above script and all worked fine . all of the normal way to
install boto3 would not work inside openshift

for example "pip install boto3" works locally but when in openshift it
throws a syntax error

but how would you do this exactly in open shift , how can I install boto3
in openshift environment???

Re: deployed Jenkins in the OPENSHIFT GUI how do I connect to it ?

2018-05-09 Thread Brian Keyes
thanks !! , I do see that URL in my case it is
https://jenkins-my-jenkins-bk.app.mxxnie.sandbox.vizuri.com/ but then I
get site cannot be reached , this is up on aws so I would imaging now I
have to open 8080 on the AWS ALB security group to allow the port 8080 to
pass , so does this sound right ?

thanks again , I am very very new to this and stumbling over myself for
sure

Re:

2017-12-01 Thread Brian Keyes
ok , I have created the user file and associated a user to it 'bob' with
the command

 htpasswd -c /etc/origin/master/htpasswd bob, I can see this file , I can
see the contents of this file and they are encryipted

next per the instructions I was able to set the password for this
with htpasswd -b /etc/origin/master/htpasswd bob password123

then I run these commands

[root@ose-master-01-bk master]# oc login -u system:admin
Logged into "https://ose-infra-01-bk.int.vizuri.com:8443; as "system:admin"
using existing credentials.

You have access to the following projects and can switch between them with
'oc project ':

  * default
kube-system
logging
management-infra
openshift
openshift-infra

Using project "default".
[root@ose-master-01-bk master]# oadm policy add-cluster-role-to-user
cluster-admin bob
cluster role "cluster-admin" added: "bob"
[root@ose-master-01-bk master]# oc login bob
error: dial tcp 52.216.164.10:443: i/o timeout
