Shipping different environments - different property/xml files
I use profiles to select one subdir for resources vs another.
This works well.
But I haven't found a solution to name my archives with the environment
(test or prod).
I use the definition
finalName${artifactId}-envname-${version}/finalName in my solution
definition.
In the target directory the archive is named right.
But the archive which will be installed or deployed has the name without
envname.
Does anybody know a solution to my problem?

Konstantin: thanks for the hint how to generate the effective pom (mvn projecthelp:effective-pom) Here is the snippet to declare the resource directories build resources resource directorysrc/main/resources/directory /resource resource directorysrc/main/conf/directory /resource /resources /build My pom which makes problems has a parent pom. When I declare the resources entry in the parent pom it has no consequences (the effective pom contains only a resource entry to src/main/conf) When I declare the resources entry in pom the effective pom has the correct resource entries (src/main/conf and src/main/resources) Does inheritance not work in such a case? BTW, I thougth the default resource entries are src/main/conf and src/main/resources. Hi, I use maven 2.0.1 and have a problem with building a jar. The src structure of my project is: src/main/java src/main/config src/main/resources When I build my jar the files of the src/main/resources directory are not included! [m2] finalName in install and version for different environments
I have a project to build / deploy for three different enviroments (test,integration, production with different configs) and want to set the jar file name depending on the active profile. I know one possibility is with the finalName Element. The jar process uses the finalName and generate the jar with the correct name (specified by finalName) But the install process doesn't use the finalName. How can I achieve it that the install process (and of course the deploy process) also uses the finalName. Please help! Specifying the name via finalName effects only the jar file in target directory. In the repository the file has not the finalName. Also the file name doesn't include version information. Thanks for answering, when I understand it right there is a properties file with a different name in the build dependent on the enviroment value. But when I load the properties file in java I use a defined name (config.properties instead of prod-config.properties, test-config.properties ...) So, where does the magic happens to copy for instance prod-config.properties to config.properties. Also, it would be nice to get an archive with the name artifactid-prod.jar and so on. Build process for different environments
Hi, I'm a maven newbie and I try out maven 2.0 alpha 3. My questions: I have a project to build / deploy for three different enviroments (test, integration, production). The difference beetween the bundles is only a properties file (there are three different files: config-test.properties, config-integration.properties ...). In the build process I want to copy the right config file to a file with a common name (config.properties - the app should work with this config file) Is there a solution to handle this with maven 2 or do I have to write a plugin? Hi Siegfried, maybe you are right. But I'm in the try out phase... When I really start with maven I don't want to set up the whole thing with a maven version which is not compatible to the new one.
