[Users] VASP needed?

2010-05-11 Thread Thomas Sieh
Hello,

I read the userguide, but I am not sure if I realy need VASP or better
what I realy have to implement.
I want to be able to send MMS from my computer and be able to receive
MMS from other handsets.
Is it correct, that I only need the mmsc-url from my operator for
sending and have to setup a VASP-Server to receive my messages from this
MMSC?

Thanks in advance
Thomas

Hi Christian,

thank you for your fast reply.

I am not sure if we are talking from the same, or i don't understand
it, yet. I have got a handset as smsc in kannel, connected with
usb-cable, with which i want to send and receive mms and sms from the
same computer.

I want to send and receive sms and mms on my computer (one computer for
all issues), which uses the mobile phone as interface to the world.
I want to manipulate and store the received messages at my computer.
MMS and SMS should only be send to other private handsets, no servers.

:(

|

That don't sound impossible :)

I thought it is possible to fetch the MMS messages directly from my own
MMSC, by using a WAP-Connection, isn't it? If it is too complicated the
other handsets have to send their MMS to a E-Mail-Account. Then I will
fetch the Messages with POP3 :-/ dirty workaround but better than spend
much time on this issue.

|
| Sorry :(

Thank you for your help. I hope I can return the favor someday.

Re: [Users] Installation of 3GPP AMR encoder/decoder patch

2010-06-06 Thread Thomas Sieh
hi,

i have never installed it by myself, but i have an idea what could be
the problem.

have you tried

sudo patch -p1 ../mbuni-amr-patch
instead of
sudo patch -p1 .../mbuni-amr-patch

are you in the correct directory?

is there no other output from ./bootstrap?
which version of autoconf do you use?
i don't know, but i suppose you have got an old autoconf installed,
that don't support the configure.ac from the source.
I expect that you try to install the latest release (mbuni-1.4.0.tar.gz)

Re: [Users] Re: Users Digest, Vol 44, Issue 2

2010-06-07 Thread Thomas Sieh
hi,

i have to say again, that i never tried it by myself, but i would do the
following as ROOT-user:

1. change to your amr folder, that contains the following files. If you
can't extract the file on the server, its ok to create an other archive
or whatever and copy it to the server...

decoder.c
interf_dec.h
interf_rom.h
readme.txt
sp_dec.c
sp_enc.h
encoder.c
interf_enc.c
makefile.gcc
rom_dec.h
sp_dec.h
typedef.h
interf_dec.c
interf_enc.h
makefile.win32
rom_enc.h
sp_enc.c

2. copy your patch-file (mbuni-amr-patch) into it, too
it should look like this:

decoder.c
interf_dec.h
interf_rom.h
readme.txt
sp_dec.c
sp_enc.h
encoder.c
interf_enc.c
makefile.gcc
rom_dec.h
sp_dec.h
typedef.h
interf_dec.c
interf_enc.h
makefile.win32
rom_enc.h
sp_enc.c
mbuni-amr-patch

3. now run the following command:
patch -p1 mbuni-amr-patch
dependent on the folder you have to be ROOT!

4. now you should have your patched amr-software
which you can compile
