Re: 1.5.0 missing in maven central

2017-07-01 Thread Oleg Nenashev
Hello,

I see the 1.6.0 release in the repo, but it haven't got to Maven Central so
far: http://central.maven.org/maven2/org/apache/sshd/sshd-core/
Is it the same license issue or something else?

The release notes also mention the wrong version of EdDSA, see the comment
in SSHD-727 <https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SSHD-727>

Best regards,
Oleg Nenashev

Re: 1.5.0 missing in maven central

2017-06-08 Thread Oleg Nenashev
I would guess it is about SSHD. It is discussed here:
http://www.mail-archive.com/users@mina.apache.org/msg06510.html . So 1.5.0
is burned due to the license issue.
We are also waiting for a new release to be published.

Re: Regarding the SSHD 1.5.0 Release ETA

2017-05-19 Thread Oleg Nenashev
Hi all,

Thanks a lot for the release cut off, I see it in GitHub. Unfortunately
SSHD 1.5.0 has not been published in Maven Central yet:
http://central.maven.org/maven2/org/apache/sshd/sshd-core/ . Likely it is
just waiting for the approval in staging. Would it be possible to get it
published?

There is also an issue with the changelog entry for SSHD-727. It says
"Upgrade EdDSA artifact version to 1.1", but actually it has been upgraded
from 1.1 to 1.2 as it has been mentioned in the issue comments.

Thanks in advance,
Oleg Nenashev

Re: Regarding the SSHD 1.5.0 Release ETA

2017-05-11 Thread Oleg Nenashev
Hello,

Thanks for the response! Looking forward to get a decision.

I would probably wait till the Jigsaw mess gets resolved somehow ;)
The behavior of Jenkins core is known to be not ideal, but we cannot easily
change it due to the compatibility requirements. Though better isolation is
on the table for the next major release.

Regarding the SSHD 1.5.0 Release ETA

2017-05-08 Thread Oleg Nenashev
Hello,

In Jenkins project we are working on the upgrade to the latest version
SSHD. We were staying on the old version for a long time, but the recent
bump to Java 8 unblocked us. Unfortunately we have one issue with one
dependent library in SSHD 1.4.0.

Issue:

   - SSHD Core 1.4.0 depends on EdDSA-Java
   <https://github.com/str4d/ed25519-java> 0.1.0
   - Jenkins core bundles other SSH-related libraries like our fork of
   Trilead SSH <https://github.com/jenkinsci/trilead-ssh2>
   - This fork has been updated recently, and the new version includes
   EdDSA-Java <https://github.com/str4d/ed25519-java> 0.2.0
   - EdDSA-Java 0.2.0 is not binary compatible with 0.1.0 (mentioned in the
   changelog <https://github.com/str4d/ed25519-java#020>)
   - Even though the dependency is optional, there is a risk of collisions
in Jenkins (core libraries are not isolated && accessible to plugins).

EdDSA has been already update in the SSHD master branch (SSHD-727, commit
<https://github.com/apache/mina-sshd/commit/d3e55205e6feab230a8a87cdb0085210e7082aa9>).
If SSHD maintainers are fine with this minor compatibility issue, It would
be great to get a release of SSHD 1.5.0 or to get its ETA to adjust our
plans.
Thanks in advance,
