  Doug,
I just had a similar thing happen to my HP Laserjet 4050tn. It was very
slow getting the pages out. I was using the CUPS Postscript driver and
isolated the problem to the printer. Cups showed the document sent and
completed as far as it was concerned, but the printer LED was still
flashing and after 30 minutes, still had not printed even the first
page. I discovered changing the CUPS driver from Postscript to the HP
PCL3 driver made it work fine. Now pages print within seconds of
  clicking on Print.
All of my computers are Slackware 14.0 Linux and all of my HP printers
  are networked.

 /snip/

The change from Postscript to the PCL3 driver was successful. By now
I have printed quite a few things on the LaserJet, and everything
started to print within about four flashes of the light.
 THANK YOU for the assistance!

Anyway, desktop integration is optional and you can simply run
  /opt/openoffice4/program/soffice

Mite be useful to Linux users. I have AOO 4.0 LO 4.1 installed on
Wheezy. With a little help, both run fine. As mentioned, destop
 integration is an issue.

Libreoffice, afaikt, does not need to use 'soffice', they have renamed
all their executables to 'libreoffice', not sure why they use
the 'soffice symlink which is in the libreoffice-common package.

I used dpkg -i --force-all to install the desktop integration package
fron AOO, it overwrites the symlink of LO. Install LO first, it is in
all the Linux distros anyway, install AOO, which is a manual install,
for Linux users. Use the 'dpkg -i --force-all' for the desktop
 integration package, one file.

  Hi,

I have a question and I can't seem to find the answer on one of the forums
  so here it is;

I'm working on an Imac in a Calc-document and I added a hyperlink appearing
  as a button.
Now I'd like to remove it but it doesn't seem to be accessible via a cell
and I found no other way to be able to remove it. Can you please help me
  out?

When you have saved and reloaded the document, then the button is no
longer in edit mode, but a click on the button will execute the link.
You have to switch to edit mode, before you can delete the button.

 Menu View Toolbars Form Controls.
This toolbar has top right an icon with a pencil. The tooltip says
Design mode on/off. Click it to switch to edit mode.

Now you can click the button and it should get green handles. Press
 Del-key to delete the button.

 Kind regards
 Regina

Think, you are subscribed to the mailing list and therefore get all the

 Hi Birgitte,

the mails which you are receiving were not sent primarily to you but to
the mailing list 'users@openoffice.apache.org'. A couple of hundreds of
people are subscribed to it. It's quite simple to unsubscribe, just send
an email to users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org and follow the
instructions of the automatic reply that you will be receiving.

 Best regards,
 Peter

Need to be a little more complete with the unsubscribe instructions...

the word 'unsubscribe' (without the quotes) needs to be in the subject line
*and*
for good measure in the main section of the e-mail, all by itself. This will
ensure that it's done properly with no flubs.
