Re: history manager openoffice 4.1 WIN 7

2014-07-14 Thread Jörg Schmidt
Hallo,

 From: K. Walter [mailto:k1.wal...@web.de]

Ich habe den historymanger heruntergeladen und installiert.
Er funktioniert jedoch nicht. Ich erhalte immer die selbe
Fehlermeldung. Das war auch bei OO Apache 4.0 so.

BASIC Laufzeitfehler. Es ist eine Eception aufgetreten

Ich weiß mir nicht mehr zu helfen. Im Internet finde ich
keine Hilfe dazu.

http://extensions.openoffice.org/de/project/history-manager

http://extensions.openoffice.org/de/project/history-manager

Frequent crashes

2014-07-14 Thread Terry Ally
My OO is frequently crashing. Sometimes programme just shuts down. Other times
it just freezes especially when I try saving a new Word doc.

I updated my profile as instructed in a troubleshooting thread and it
eliminated the problem for about two months.

Now the issues have returned. Do I have to keep updating my profile or is there
another solution?

I am using Windows 8.1

Thanks

try downloading c++ redistributable 2008 from the internet and installing it
separately. if the problem persists, then it seems to come with c++ rather than
with openoffice.

My name is Craig Weidhuner, I've downloaded Open Office 4.1.0 for Windows
8.1 and have been using the writer. The spell checker seemed to keep
setting the default language to English USA and every time I open a file I
have to keep reseting it to English Canada. I can add new words to the
dictionary but every time I open the file it highlights those words as
spelling errors until I perform a spell check. Once that is done, only
then does the program seem to recognize these words. Also several times
the spell checker seems to freeze and says the program is not responding.
Now it's suddenly telling me all my words are spelled incorrectly and when
I do a spell check it seems I have to add each word back into the
dictionary. I've looked at the forums but all the posts either have the
same questions over and over again with no answer, or answers which make no
sense to me, I admit I'm not very tech savy and all these open file X and
rename this and that just confuse me. Is there anyone who can help? I
appreciate any help you can offer.

Regards

Craig

Me three on getting these odd missives. Show up about every three weeks,

Very odd.

Open Office vs MS Office

2014-07-14 Thread Senior.System Analyst
Dear Sir/Madam,
Kindly provide us your comments for the following at the earliest.
(a) Formatting (color size, shapes, etc.) may change once MS word document is
opened in Open Office.
(b) Sometimes behaviour of open office is uncertain when using Smart Art Word
Art styles (of MS Power point, excel).
(c) Animation of MS Powerpoint slides does not always work as desired in Open
Office.
(d) Although macros are supported in Open Office but the Macros created using
MS Office cannot be executed in Open Office.
(e) Some of the features that are easily available in MS Office could not be
found in Open office such as;-
 (i) Spelling / Grammer check
(ii) View files side by side with Synchronous scrolling
(iii) Converting the impress document into PDF results in the printing of all
hidden slides too. But in MS Office, the hidden slides are not printed even
when it is converted into PDF.

An early reply will highly be appreciated.
