Re: Draw Hyperlink

2014-10-23 Thread Apo

Hallo,

über das Bordwerkzeug (Export als pdf) geht's bei mir auch nicht, über die
Druckereinstellung (Drucken - Adobe PDF) klappt der Link im PDF-Format.

Schon mal so probiert?

Thank you for the suggestion but the hyphen ‘ Does show and when it is
removed the mixed fraction reverts to the date type numeration.

Oh, that's strange… The ' use to show in the formula field but not in the
cell itself, but maybe we are talking about two different things here.
Also pre-formatting the cell to text usually works.

If they only are supposed to show up as text, you can add a ' at the

  '4-2/3
The ' will not be displayed.

RE: Intermittent problem with RTF files

2014-10-23 Thread Dennis E. Hamilton
I have confirmed the bug using a file that Jonathan was kind enough
to provide. I was able to derive a reproducible test case for the
bug, which arises when older RTF (\rtf0) format files are opened by
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 (and earlier) and then saved in RTF format,
whether edited or not. The defect involves incorrect conversion to
newer (\rtf1) RTF format.

The test case demonstration has been added at
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=68343.

Subject: Intermittent problem with RTF files

I recently saved an RTF file, and after I saved the file it was
corrupted completely. As far as I can tell, the problem is intermittent
and I know of no way to reproduce it consistently.

How can I determine if this is the same issue that was reported earlier
as bug #68343 (http://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=68343)?

When I download the attachment in the bug report, I see that it is in a
foreign language; however, making any change to it, and saving, produces
a similar symptom to what I experienced. But the most recent comment in
the bug report indicates that it was not reproducible using in
ooo320-m19 (which, I understand, is the same as OpenOffice 3.2.1), and
I have Open Office 4.0.1.

How do I know whether bug #68343 applies only to documents written in
the language in question, or whether it has the same underlying cause as
the problem that I experienced?

RE: Intermittent problem with RTF files

2014-10-23 Thread Jonathan
Thank you for your help, and for posting your detailed analysis (with
example attachments) to the bug-reporting system. This is technical
support at its best! I hope the developers now have what they need to
fix this.

Dennis E Hamilton dennis.hamil...@acm.org wrote:

The file in issue report #68343 is in Polish. The corruption described
there is about the characters being shown rotated 90 degrees.

Corrupted completely sounds like a very different problem.

My suggestion is that you create a new issue, with the following
information:

 1. An original file (RTF or something else?)

 2. The Saved As ... in RTF format.

 3. What you see in trying to open (2), such as a small screen capture.

If you can't duplicate it, wait until it happens again and you have a
specimen (2) that you use as evidence of the problem.

These only need to be small enough to exhibit the problem. (3) is
important in case others can't duplicate it, so that it is clear
there is an intermittent problem with the code. It's to convince
the mechanic that there really is a groaning noise that is never
heard on a test drive [;).

basic association

2014-10-23 Thread writerone
I am a computer knowledge deficient individual who needs basic information of
doing things with my computer. I am currently running in Windows 7 and have
installed Open Office which I use for basic typing where I print out what I
type. No problem doing that, HOWEVER if I want to email what I type I am told
that I must ASSOCIATE Open Office with my EMail Program (Windstream Mail) .

Re: basic association

2014-10-23 Thread Alexandro Colorado
If you use something like Outlook or Thunderbird you could follow this
instructions:
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Administration_Guide/Accessing_Email_Clients

Otherwise it would be better if you save the file and then insert the
file as an attachment.

If that's the case, then just read on how to export as PDF or DOC and
read your email provider instructions on how to provide attachments.
