malware
Greetings, I use Open Office on my 2 desktop computers and love it. I have an older Dell laptop that I use only occasionally. I downloaded Open Office to it yesterday. It runs Windows XP. I had to disable the anti-virus program to download. Your download program deposited several annoying “extras” to my computer. One of them called Lasaoren has infected my computer and taken over my web browser. Why do you do that? All I wanted was a clean download of your product. How can I get rid of Lasaoren? Thanks, Bill

too much memory used
Hello: I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve been using Apache OpenOfficeOrg for about three years now and never wrote about this issue. I swear by this program, but I’ve been having increased problems with the amount of memory it’s using. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of how I can get the program to stop using up to 400K of memory and slowing down my computer. Admittedly, I should upgrade my memory, but it’s still pretty annoying that the program is taking up so much memory while I’m trying to write. Any advice is welcome. Thanks, Chev

Re: too much memory used
I had the same Problem until I put all my OOA on to a separate external hard drive and just kept this drive for all my OOA - A 1TB external hard drive does not cost much and it saves a hell of a lot of problems. Re: too much memory used
AOO doesnt use that much memory. AFAIK is a 80MB downloaded, installed is only 370MB. And as far as RAM goes, when using around 500MB of virtual memory and only 130 of RES memory after opening a document, (2)spreadsheet presentation, base document and draw document. So if your computer is under 512MB it should run adecaute. In all cases an upgrade of RAM should cost u around $25-$ 30 USD. You could try LibreOffice, is almost the same. On 6 November 2014 22:33, Alexandro Colorado j...@oooes.org wrote: AOO doesnt use that much memory. AFAIK is a 80MB downloaded, installed is only 370MB. Re: too much memory used
That won't work. It will use more than 400k If he needs something less than 400k he should use a text editor like nano or edir On Nov 6, 2014 6:05 PM, Ben Edwards list4...@gmail.com wrote: You could try LibreOffice, is almost the same.
