Hi Jody.

This is an OpenOffice mailing list where users volunteer to help each other.
As your question was related to your mailing program I can't see what
this has to

do with OpenOffice.
Please send all OpenOffice questions to users@openoffice.apache.org
where you can

reach many volunteers as my knowledge is very narrow.

Could you or someone browse to my PC and check settings.

RE: OpenOffice Writer

2014-12-15 Thread Dennis E. Hamilton
In the top menu of OpenOffice Writer, select the View menu, then select
Toolbars and on the list of Toolbars, click Drawing.

This should provide some of what you are looking for?

Also, at the right margin there is a strip with four symbols. The one that
looks like a stack of little cubes will pop out a "Properties" list for
controlling some features of text. The one that looks like a little stack of
pictures will open a gallergy of interesting symbols and images for you to use.

Some of these are also obtained using little icons in the two rows across the
top and beneath the row of menu names.

Finally, on the top menu again, click Help (don't use the F1 key), and then
click the Open Office Help entry in the list that shows up. This will take you
to an extensive Help library that you can search for features you are looking
for, using the Index tab. The Content tab lists some areas you might want to
explore.

Does this help you find what you are looking for?

 - Dennis

Subject: OpenOffice Writer

I just got an update for openoffice, which I did update, but...

I'm not very good at explaining, but I'll give it a try. A few years ago I
discovered in openoffice writer that I can create with lines (dashed or solid),
squares, circles, & other options, making them thin, fat, long short, & so on.
I could also choose colors as well. I don't know if these options have a name
or not (I don't recall seeing anything). These options ran along the bottom
left of the page. After the update I opened one of my documents (openoffice
writer) to change a few things in something I was working on only a few hours
before the update took place & now these options are gone! What happened & can
I get them back? I'm very low income & few things are free these days. This was
something fun I could do for free & would like to get it back. I don't know if
it's not a free option anymore & the update took them away, or if I'm just not
looking in the right place to bring it back.

Please let me knowThank you,Bridget

In the View menu under Toolbars there's an item called Drawing that
you can turn on. Is that what you're looking for?

What version do you have? You can download the current version at
http://www.openoffice.org/download/index.html

Installing it will replace the version you currently have (unless you are
currently using OOo 3.xx

In addition to my other posting, which will sort out the page display, You may
need to click on /View /Print Layout to get the correct onscreen page display
with page breaks in the correct place.

Bottom right of OpenOffice window, three little icons. Click on the single page
icon and then adjust scale using the slider beside them or the % box in the
right hand corner

pages side by side in odt

2014-12-15 Thread Michael Slater

All my odt documents have suddenly gone to having the pages arranged
with two pages side by side. Also, under View in the header bar, I now get
Print layout and Web layout
How do I get back to having all the pages one below another and having
normal and page break views available in the header?
Thank you!
