Saving Format in OpenOffice
Hi, I am using open office in fedora21 and I want to save my reports with MS Office(i.e. Microsoft Office) compatibility(i.e. using .xlsx format or etc) but openoffice provide some limited formats. All of those formats are also not fully supported or compatible with MS office. If we have to install any other package for these issues then please inform us. Please provide solution for that issue.

As I understand it, LibreOffice provides better support for the new MS office formats. However, given the problems with the new format, even with MS Office, it's recommended that the old MS formats (xls etc) be used. Those are well supported in OpenOffice. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org
problems
I have been having problems with Open Office for over a month. On a near daily basis the program freezes and I get a notice saying that Open Office is not responding. I have found that if I re-boot it generally clears the problem. However, Yesterday the program froze, I left it for a while, I returned to Open Office and received a recovery notice. I was told that recovery was successful and it automatically returned me to the project on which I was working. But, it is still frozen. What’s up? I am trying to write a book and this is too much frustration. I do not want to revert to any other program but, need ypur help. Jaffery Stewart

The usual starting point for spell-check problems is to delete or rename the OpenOffice user profile. Doing this sorts out a very large proportion [read: most] of OpenOffice stability problems. Well, the only thing I can suggest then is to go with LibreOffice, which has that support. You can download it from www.libreoffice.org. You'll find it similar to OpenOffice, as it forked off from it a few years ago. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org

How much _available_ RAM is there, when you use Apache OpenOffice. How many characters are in the document? How many images are in the document? How many object files are in the document? How many tables does the document contain? How many different styles are used in the document? How many changes in style does the document contain? How frequently does Auto-Recovery run? Does Autorecovery also automatically save a copy of the document? Does Autorecovery also automatically make a backup copy? jonathon signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature
