These, much more limited from the numbers we see, other occurrences are even harder to track and diagnose. add an option to reset the user profile from a toolbar. That has been the favorite option so far, together with an option for resetting the profile when one (un)installs the program. You will find the full discussions on the dev list, but technically the complexity is that you can't delete the profile from a running OpenOffice (so this would have to be scheduled for the next restart and coding it becomes more complex) and that you (un)install the program system-wide, but your profile is a per-user setting. Re: Conversion from Word Perfect 12 to AAO Writer
Tnx Jan. I have a WP document that is a tabulation of data. When saving as .doc format, then opening with AOO, it got messed up; loss of columns/row lines and blank pages. Perhaps I need to rewrite that data in a database table using AOO Base, if this effort fails. Also, have documents that are letter-type, etc., but have not as yet tried to use MS Word (from MS Office 2003/2007) to AOO. I thought I would try LibreOffice, and did not want to make mistake of using an unusual download website. Regards, VinceB.
In MS Word gibt es 3 Typen von 'Feldern': (a) Formularfelder i. No problem, Vince. My preference when I hit the problem was to stick with AOO since I was still 'learning' it and not have to get involved in yet another program. Good luck! This one is particularly important at the moment so what to do? help Jan Cole Usually this is caused by some problem with a recent insertion, perhaps a table of illustration (but not exclusively those). It can happen that OpenOffice on another operating system can open a stubborn file; a resave on that system will sometimes produce a good file. Another method (useful mostly for text files) is to use an archive utility such as WinZip to open the .odt file. Content.xml in the archive contains the unformatted text, which can be extracted, inserted into a new blank file of the correct type and (usually) speedily reformatted. If the file is a spreadsheet or other type of file the reformatting may be overly complex. -- Rory O'Farrell ofarr...@iol.ie - To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org
