Re: Numbers automatically advance in spreadsheet columns

2020-04-27 Thread Jean Lear
As a regular user of Calc in Apache OpenOffice I have added two extra items
to my tool bar (another learning curve to do this). I have added 'Fill
Down' and 'Fill Series'
Fill Series will bring up the Fill Series window which allows a lot of
alternatives for what is being done in the column or row selected.
Fill down is also useful to repeat text down a number of rows.
Hope this extra information helps.

Re: Adobe OO for Linux...?

Hello Martin,

I haven't installed the RPM package. However on the Apache OpenOffice
website I found these instructions for RPM install.
https://www.openoffice.org/download/common/instructions.html#linux-rpm

Seems you need to:
navigate to the directory the RPMs were extracted to
su to root
issue the command rpm -Uvih *rpm
there's a few other steps for shell integration

Been a while since I installed my DEB version but, if I recall correctly,
it was the same process. Extract, use a wildcard to indicate all DEBs,
*deb. That install is working just fine.

1) Mark the Cell

2) Right Klick -> select copy

3) select first Cell of your row. (i.e. the cell below)

4) Press shift And mark the last cell -> you now see the rows that you
target marked.

5) right click select copy.

I had experienced same as David did; now I know that I must hold Ctrl

There are various ways to do this.

o (As someone has already said) Use Ctrl+fill instead of normal fill.

o Enter the same number again in the cell immediately below the
original. Select both cells. (Drag over them or use click and
Shift+click). Now fill down as usual.

o Select the entire range you want filled - including your original
cell. Go to Edit | Fill > | Down.

o For more complex requirements, select the entire range and use Edit

I trust this helps.

WG: Ihre Eingabe / Präsentation/ Animation

2020-04-27 Thread nordsee0909

Re: doc vs docx

2020-04-27 Thread Peter Kovacs
On the development list, we discuss modern MS Office Formats from time
to time. And we have multiple Ideas on how we could improve the issue.

But currently the Discussions are maybe more a bundle of Ideas then a
real plan. I believe this topic will get more attention after we have
finally managed to release 4.2.0.

This my personal personal position and is not an aligned development list.

This does not help you much, but maybe it is nice to have some
impressions from the dev perspective.
