Open Windows 10 Microsoft Store and in the search bar type: "OpenOffice" or
"OpenOffice Suite". Currently, these applications are available there to
install over Win 10 and I think, that they are compatible languages and the
latest version.
Do not forget to download and update Microsoft Store application on your system
earlier.

My laptop with Windows 10 won't allow my open office to update it. Any help
would be appreciated.

Try restarting Windows after a Power down. If that doesn't work, start
TaskManager (Ctrl Shift Esc) and delete all soffice.bin entries on
TaskManager's tabs.

5 months writing, and no backups? Tut tut! You may have powered off your
computer before the file was written to disk from the Write buffers.

If you are using Windows, try the methods set out in this Tutorial which will
tell how to find and undelete temporary files which OpenOffice used in course
of editing.

Problem

2021-11-29 Thread Ema Staskunaite
Hello,

I was using OpenOffice for my project that took me more than 5 months to
write. And today I opened it and almost had a heart attack.. some of
lithuanian letters in the text are in chinese and other markings. Is it
possible to return the original text?

I did not do anything different, I have saved the file as always and closed
it. It's in original OpenOffice format.

Thank you for the answer,
Sincerely
Ema s.
