Oh, that's easy.
Send the file to a trusted friend and have him/her unravel it for you.

Re: Windows 11 Crash - OpenOffice Runs - Not Responding State

2022-06-13 Thread David Stuhr

Hello,

Yes, I have used End Task in Task Manager to quit OpenOffice and then
restarted  Windows 11. There was no change in the behavior of OpenOffice
after the restart.

I downloaded OpenOffice from the web, uninstalled OpenOffice and
re-installed OpenOffice. Everything is back to "normal behavior" of
OpenOffice. Am now able to create, save and reopen OpenOffice text and
spreadsheet documents.

Thanks for your assistance.

David,

Have you tried forcing OpenOffice to quit from the Task Manager and then reboot

OpenOffice runs but I cannot create new text or spreadsheet documents. Again

restarted Windows 11 but OpenOffice opens in a Not Responding state.

I have 3/4 different backups so I am not concerned about loosing the
spreadsheet data.

How do I get OpenOffice in a state that I can create new text and spreadsheet
documents.

Thanks.

Opening an excel file that is password protected

2022-06-13 Thread John Jay
Is there a way to open an excel file that has been password protected. I no
longer have Excel so I can't remove the password that way. When I try to open
the file in Spreadsheet it opens up a filter selection box. I have chosen
several of the excel formats but nothing seems to work.

Windows 11 Crash - OpenOffice Runs - Not Responding State

2022-06-13 Thread David Stuhr

Hello,

Using OpenOffice 4.1.12 on a new Windows 11 PC. I had running on my
Thunderbird mail client, my FireFox browser and OpenOffice adding data
to a spreadsheet.

Stepped away from my PC and when I returned Thunderbird, FireFox and
OpenOffice were not running, Windows 11 was. Restarted Thunderbird,
FireFox and OpenOffice. OpenOffice attempted to recover the spreadsheet.
Task Manager showed that OpenOffice was Not Responding.

OpenOffice runs but I cannot create new text or spreadsheet documents.
Again Task Manager shows that OpenOffice is in a Not Responding state.
It appears that something is putting OpenOffice in the Not Responding
state. I have restarted Windows 11 but OpenOffice opens in a Not
Responding state.

I have 3/4 different backups so I am not concerned about loosing the
spreadsheet data.

How do I get OpenOffice in a state that I can create new text and
spreadsheet documents.

Thanks.
