Open office issues
I have used Open Office for several years. I have not had any problems until this week. I do my monthly budget on a spreadsheet and simply do an update each month. This month when I opened my spreadsheet, several of the functions would not work, i.e. cut and paste. I made several attempt and even opened different spreadsheets without any success. I checked on line for updates and found the .5 revision so I downloaded it. I tried ti install it and ran into problems. Next, I unistalled it so I could do a clean install. When I try to install it, I ge an error message 1500 which says that another installation is in progress and needs to be completed. I cannot find any other installation and I have rebooted the computer. I still get the same message. Now I am stuck without a spreadsheet program. Any suggestions??? Dan Hamman

RE: Open office issues.
I assume you didn't have any version of OpenOffice.org (Apache OpenOffice or LibreOffice) on the machine before installing AOO 3.4.1. It sounds like first-run doesn't get far enough to create a profile. Does the account you were using the first time you started Apache OpenOffice an administrator account? In Windows Explorer (the first application after the browser on your desktop start bar) look to see if C:\Users\\App Data\Roaming\OpenOffice.org\3\user\registrymodifications.xcu is there. App Data is a hidden directory, but if you type the above through ... App Data\ in the Explorer address bar, you should get there. Then click through the other folders. If the path is not there, let me know. Oh, and did you see the OpenOffice tiles on the Windows 8 Start Screen after the install completed? - Dennis -Original Message- From: Dan Cowell [mailto:danielmartincow...@hotmail.com] Sent: Thursday, April 04, 2013 14:28 To: users@openoffice.apache.org Subject: RE: Open office issues.
