How do you normally attach other things; for example a photo or PDF document?

Are you using a separate email app, such as Thunderbird? If so, and
your computer is set up properly, you can send a document by clicking on
File Send and then choosing the method you wish to use. Failing that,
with email apps and web mail, you can attach the document to the message.

Most email programs have the ability to attach a file. When in the email
program this facility might be accessed by a button (usual icon is a paperclip)
and/or by a menu item. The keyword to search for in the email's Help file is
attach.

If you are using the email client that Comcast gives you (Zimbra), when you
click NEW a message composition bar opens at the top of the frame.
Attach is one of the buttons that appears in the bar. It has the paper
clip icon. You can attach any file AOO, Pdf, jpg, etc. from your
computer's directory.

Attaching a file to an EMail has nothing to do with OpenOffice - you use your
email program to find and attach the file to your email. To do so you have to
know
1. how to attach a file,
2. where the file is located on your computer (Usually on My Documents)
   and
3. most important: whether the recipient can open the attachment.

1. can be answered by comcast.net support, 2. is only known by you.

The answer to 3 is in most cases no, because the recipients needs
OpenOffice or LibreOffice or some Microsoft Word Plugin installed to open an
OpenOffice File.

Most probably you want to export your file as PDF and attach the PDF file to
your email.
