"Repeat" should be Ctrl+Shift+Y, not Ctrl+Y. Is your problem only 
that simple misunderstanding?


o Go to Tools | Customise... | Keyboard.
o Choose OpenOffice at top right.
o Under "Shortcut keys", scroll down to Ctrl+Shift+Y.
o Does it show "Repeat"? If not, you can reinstate this from "Edit" 
under Category and "Repeat" under Function.


Another possibility is that you have installed some other software 
that has trapped the required key combination at a higher level, so 
that OpenOffice never gets to hear the keystroke you have made.


This was endlessly useful. Especially if you has several pages of 
text and you wanted to underline the headings of the paragraphs. You 
could just underline the first paragraph then go to the second, 
highlight the heading and Control + Y.


This is not the simplest nor indeed the best way to do this.

You can apply existing formatting to additional text using the Format 
Paintbrush in the Standard toolbar.

o Put the cursor into the existing formatted text.
o Double-click the Format Paintbrush icon.
o Drag the modified cursor over each additional text in turn to 
impose similar formatting.

o Press Esc to terminate the process.

But *much* better, ascribe a suitable character or (preferably) 
paragraph style to your headings. When you decide to underline your 
headings, modify the style and bingo: all the headings are underlined 
(or whatever) at a stroke. This is also more reliable: you are less 
likely to miss a heading. Time spent learning about styles is quickly 
repaid in the facilities and convenience they provide.

This file arrived in an otherwise empty message and with no 
explanation. Surely trying to open it in a copy of Microsoft Office 
is the least safe thing to do with it?


The first three-quarters of the file (called "Games") consists of a 
stream of identical bytes, with at least parts of the rest containing 
(parts of?) a Microsoft Excel document file. The user clearly has a 
corrupted file, with his or her operating system falsely seeing an 
unused area of disk included in the file.

you can go to tools menu, options language, writing aids and check and
uncheck the items that you want.
for example: check spelling as you type, check grammar etc.

Hallo,
ich habe  am 19.03.2016  OpenOffice (Apache Software Foundation) 
heruntergeladen Version 4.12.9782  362 MB

und habe damit Probleme.
So kann  ich  unter "Öffnen mit"   bei "Andere Apps auf diesem PC 
suchen" OpenOffice unter meinen Programmen nicht finden.
Aber wenn ich auf der Kacheloberfläche  nach App`s _suche_ erscheint 
dort nur die App: OpenOffice Calc.

Wenn ich unter _Alle Apps suche _öffnen sich  OpenOffice mit 7 Unterordnern.

Ich bitte um Aufklärung und Hilfe!

Fehler: Rechtschreibung - Extensions - Extensions Manager

Sehr geehrtes Apache Team !

Wie ja schon allgemein bekannt ist wird man schon seit langen vom Microsoft 
durch ständige Pop-ups etc. förmlich zum upgrade auf Windows 10 quasi genötigt 
und gedrängt. Weil mir das auf die Nerven gegangen ist habe ich mich schon im 
vergangenen Sommer leider dazu hinreißen lassen dieses Upgrade durchzuführen 
das aber leider mit dem Problem des Endlos-Neustarts meines PCs geendet hat. 
Mit große Mühe ist es mir gelungen mit einer Systemwiederherstellung meinen PC 
auf mein Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit zurückzustellen. Aber leider dürfte dabei 
das Apapche OpenOffice Schaden genommen haben denn seit dem habe ich den 
Eindruck daß die Rechtschreibprüfung nicht mehr richtig funktioniert und der 
EXTENSIONS MANAGER mit den Extensions nicht mehr richtig funktioniert – es 
fehlen in der Extension Manager Liste die meisten Wörterbücher: es ist nur mehr 
Deutsch und 1 US-English vorhanden - und beim Versuch weitere zu installieren 
kommt folgende Fehlermeldung:

Seit den vielen Monaten seit vergangenen Sommer suche ich schon verzweifelt 
erfolglos kreuz und quer im Internet nach einer Lösung – in den diversen 
Communities sind das schon uralte Beiträge.
Ich habe es bei Apache Open Office schon mit Reparieren , De- und Installieren 
versucht; beim letzten Update auf 4.1.2 hatte ich gehofft daß diese 
Neuinstallation das Problem löst. Aber leider auch nicht.

Im Internet habe ich dann Ihren Konkurrent Libre Office gefunden von dem dabei 
so geschwärmt und so in den Himmel gehoben wird und nach langem hin und her 
überlegen habe ich Libre Office auch installiert: dabei hat mich sofort gestört 
daß alle OpenOffice Dateien auch die Extensions gleich in LibreOffice 
umgewandelt wurden; ein funktionierender Extensions Manager war dann zwar 
vorhanden aber beim Verwenden des Libro Office bleibt diese Programm ständig 
hängen und stürzt ab; ich frage mich was an diesem Programm so toll sein soll; 
so etwas kann ich nicht brauchen; ich habe Libre Office umgehend wieder 
deinstalliert aber mit der Angst dabei daß es mit OpenOffice Anwendungen und 
Dateien gemeinsam verwendet und diese bei der Deinstallation mit deinstalliert 
aber das ist dann Gott sei Dank nicht passiert.

Ich verwende OpenOffice nun schon seit vielen Jahren zur vollsten Zufriedenheit 
als alternative zu Microsoft Office und mir blutet das Herz daß es jetzt 
beschädigt ist und ich keine Lösung für das Problem finden kann. Eigenmächtig 
zu viel im System herum möchte ich auch nicht da ich für meine Arbeit wichtige 
Dokumente habe die ich dann vielleicht nicht mehr öffnen oder verwenden kann.

Ich weiß schon daß das Open Office Team alles ehrenamtliche Mitarbeiter sind. 
Daher bedanke ich mich schon im voraus für irgendwelche Hilfe und werde auch 
geduldig sein auf eine mögliche Lösung zu warten – vielleicht eine völlige und 
vollkommen neue Programmversion die das alles korrekt wieder herstellt.
