Hi Ryan,

We did exactly that, we create a new cluster and then did a live migration
between clusters, we had no problems with this (same hardware, same cpu …. )

It is possible to migrate a VM from 6 to 7 it is recommended however that you
don't do a live migration and that you power off the VM and then turn it back
on on the cluster running version 7 "Groten, Ryan" wrote:

No, it is not a loop.

I've done further tests today and finally I've defined the following conditions.
Erratic behavior is detected only within a cluster where nodes are HP Proliant
BL660cGen8, connected to Cisco Nexus 7K thru HP FEX B22 blade interconnects and
Cisco Nexus 5596 switches. All nic cards are 10Gbit.

It doesn't happen with two HP Proliant DL380G5 with 10Gbit nics, connected
directly to Cisco Nexus 5548UP switches and not happen with two HP Proliant
ML350eGen8 nic 1Gbit connected to Cisco 4948 and next the same Nexus 5548UP.

All nodes are running Centos 7.1 with latest updates and all networks are
configured in the same mode, with bonding over two nic, then vlan interfaces
and bridge towards VMs. Bonding is 4 for all and works correctly with DL380
and ML350 clusters.

Well, I've tried to change the bonding mode on the BL660 cluster to mode 1 and
the issue disappear.
In all other bonding modes, it doesn't work; bridge interfaces receive DHCP
offers and do NOT reject packets, but tap interfaces aren't receiving the
offer. It works only with mode 1.

How I can investigate further ? Desiderata is to have mode 4, to aggregate
available bandwidth.

OK. The warnings happen because the parser generator that we use is
trying to write its parse tables during runtime, but it doesn't have
permission because the files are probably owned by root. You can try to
solve that running the following command as root:

  # python -c 'import cli.parser; parser = cli.parser.Parser();
parser._write_tables()'

In platforms that use the RPM packaging system we run this when the
package is installed. I need to check if we can move this to setup.py
somehow.

I'm not familiar with the pkg_resources.parse_version issue, will take a
look.

Other than those warnings, does it work?

By the way, I'd appreciate if you can add these comments to the bug:

  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1255409

You may need to create an account if you don't have one yet.

excellent KVM management interface for multi-node virtualization.
This release is available now for Fedora 22,
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7, CentOS Linux 6.7 (or similar) and
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.1, CentOS Linux 7.1 (or similar).

This release supports Hypervisor Hosts running
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.1, CentOS Linux 7.1 (or similar),
Fedora 21 and Fedora 22.
Highly experimental support for Debian 8.1 Jessie has been added too.

This release of oVirt 3.6.0 includes numerous bug fixes.
See the release notes [1] for an initial list of the new features and bugs
fixed.

Please refer to release notes [1] for Installation / Upgrade instructions.
New Node ISO and oVirt Live ISO will be available soon as well[2].

Please note that mirrors[3] may need usually one day before being

The same happens in the following two files:

  src/ovirtcli/platform/__init__.py
  src/ovirtcli/platform/windows/__init__.py

Please try the same modification, add "darwin" to the list that
currently contains only "linux2" and test.

This is related to the cli/platform/__init__.py, there we check what is
the platform using the Python "sys.platform" variable. Currently we only
check for "linux2" and "win32". I think that in Mac OS the value of
"sys.platform" is "darwin". So, if you can, try to modify that file so
that it has this content:

import sys

if sys.platform in ['linux2', 'darwin']:
from cli.platform.posix.terminal import PosixTerminal as Terminal
from cli.platform.posix.util import *

elif sys.platform in ('win32',):
pass

Then check if it works correctly.

[ovirt-users] RESTAPI: 'action type cpu profile empty' if more then one profile defined in the cluster

2015-08-20 Thread Daniel Helgenberger
Hello,

I still seem to have an issue in ovirt with a [BZ1160846].
In my case, foreman is unable to add hosts if I have multiple CPU
Profiles defined in the cluster:

Failed to create a compute oVirt (oVirt) instance $hostname: action type
cpu profile empty

BZ says this was resolved in RHEV 3.5.1; but running 3.5.3 I still have
this issue (if this BZ is even applicable)

Thanks!

Versions:
oVirt 3.5.3 el7
Foreman 1.8.2

Thanks!

From http://www.spice-space.org/download.html:

spice-xpi

This is a plugin for browsers compatible with the Mozilla plugin API (for
example Firefox or Chromium). It's used for launching the SPICE client from the
oVirt user portal. This plugin is currently Linux-only.

I tried to use chrome. I can download it, it launch RemoteViewer, but I get a
blank screen.

It style download a .vv, that I associated to RemoteViewer, screewed.

And RemoteViewer only works when launched from the command line. This
application is very ... strange on mac os (to stay polite)

If I try to use noVNC, I get a Server disconnected (code: 1006) on Safari,
Chrome and Firefox.

On Safari, when I want to create an host :

The ssh public key field is blank and stays in that state.

In Firefox, the download for the console access (console.vv) fails, but if I
inspect if with Firebux, it seems it went fine. I downloaded Remote Viewer, but

When migrating servers using an iSCSI storage domain, about 75% of the
time they will become unresponsive and stuck at 100% CPU after
migration. This does not happen with direct LUNs, however.

What causes this? How do I stop it from happening?
