Re: [ovirt-users] ovirt-engine-extension-aaa-ldap and sysprep domain join

2015-10-26 Thread Alon Bar-Lev
Hi,
The usage of the engine-manage-domain user to anything else but ldap searches
is something that is unexpected and insecure.
As a solution, you may either paste a modified sysprep file into the pool at UI
or set up a different osinfo profile with modified sysprep file, this modified
sysprep file can contain the credentials of the user that is being used for
joining the domain.
CCing Shahar which may assist farther.
Regards,
Alon

Hi,
You can paste a modified sysprep file to "new Pool"->"Initial run"->"Custom
Script"
As Alon mentioned.

At this stage you are trying to add a host to not compatible cluster:

NonOperational status for reason
'EMULATED_MACHINES_INCOMPATIBLE_WITH_CLUSTER_LEVEL'.
SetNonOperationalVds command is skipped.

Please make sure that you host and cluster version match.

I can see that when you resolved naming issue you can talk to your host now.

[ovirt-users] ovirt-engine-extension-aaa-ldap and sysprep domain join

2015-10-26 Thread Cristian Mammoli
Hi, I tried to migrate to ovirt-engine-extension-aaa-ldap from
engine-manage-domains. Everything seems to work fine so far except the
automatic join to domain during sysprep.

Is it supposed to work? Where should I investigate further?

Thank you

In order to properly backup a VMWare setup and VMs you will need to pay
money for
the relevant backup product.

Ovirt?
When I can't pinpoint a VM Image? Will I have to take Whole storage such as
NSF, ISCSI or SAN (i.e - FC)

Them, How to restore?

Re: [ovirt-users] Ovirt3.6

2015-10-26 Thread Piotr Kliczewski
Based on provided snippet of a log the engine is not able to connect
to your vdsm due to timeout (by default 2 seconds).
Please provide vdsm log so we can see why it failed.

Re: [ovirt-users] Unstable hosted engine

2015-10-26 Thread Piotr Kliczewski
Jaret,

I can see in your engine log that there was exception raised on vdsm side:

VDSErrorException: Failed to GetAllVmStatsVDS, error = 'progress', code = -32603

but none of host logs contains this exception. Please provide a log
which contains the exception.

Thanks,
Piotr

Re: [ovirt-users] Vm suddenly paused with error "vm has paused due to unknown storage error"

2015-10-26 Thread Markus Stockhausen
Hi Jasper,

from time to time we see a similar behaviour. All of a sudden a VM pauses due
to
some IO error. But it takes 5 months to occur. Our
/var/log/libvirt/qemu/.log gives

qemu-system-x86_64: block.c:2806: bdrv_error_action: Assertion `error >= 0'
failed.

Currently we are waiting to capture the next crash. I do not know if your error
allows to enforce cores for in depth analysis. If yes you should activate

1) /usr/lib/systemd/system/libvirtd.service
LimitCORE=infinity

2) /etc/security/limits.conf
*  soft  core  unlimited

unknown storage error"

Hi all,

Since we upgraded our Ovirt nodes to CentOS 7 a vm (not a specific one but
never more then one) will sometimes pause suddenly with the error "VM ... has
paused due to unknown storage error". It happens now two times in a month.
The Ovirt node uses san storage for the vm's running on it. When a specific vm
is pausing with an error the other vm's keeps running without problems.
The vm runs without problems after unpausing it.

As I'm using forman, I have no control over this. There used to be a
bug, but it should have been patched months ago:

http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/6835

-

*Description*

Cloned from https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1123676
Description of problem:
When trying to create a rhev compute resource with non-admin RHEV
user, the following error occurs:

"query execution failed due to insufficient permissions."

The reason for this is the RHEV needs to be called with 'Filter:
true' headers
for the api to work correctly with non-admin user.

The rbovirt client library supports to specify the filtered_api
option, but fog and foreman don't have a support for that

[ovirt-users] api access with poweruser role

2015-10-26 Thread Jorick Astrego
Hi,

Currently I'm trying to add an ovirt compute resource in forman that is
limited to the VM's of the user.

When I give this user the PowerUser role, I cannot access the api:

query execution failed due to insufficient permissions

When I give this user the SuperUser role, I can access the api. But I
can see all the VM's of all users.

How can I grant api access so the user can deploy through forman without
giving access to all the vm's in our oVirt environment?

Kind regards,

Jorick

It looks that your VM is configured with delete protection,
if you desire to remove this VM, try to edit the VM and disable the option of
delete protection.
I attached a print screen of the edited VM.

Are you sending header 'Filter: true' with the request ?
If your user is not admin(PowerUserRole is not admin role),
you have to use this header.

When I give this user the SuperUser role, I can access the api. But I
can see all the VM's of all users.

How can I grant api access so the user can deploy through forman
without giving access to all the vm's in our oVirt environment?

Re: [ovirt-users] Troubles removing VM

2015-10-26 Thread Maor Lipchuk
Hi Andy,

Can u please attach the engine and VDSM logs
You should not remove it from the DB.
On the disks main tab, do you see any disks which are locked?
When the VM's disks are being removed, there might be other related operations
in progress, like update VM's snapshots, for example.
If you try to remove it now, does it still gives you the same message?

Thanks,
Maor

Hi all,

Trying to add a node to our setup, but since today I'm getting an error

[ovirt-users] ovirt 3.6 and self hosted engine: clarification on datacenter input

2015-10-26 Thread Gianluca Cecchi
tried latest version with
http://resources.ovirt.org/pub/yum-repo/ovirt-release36.rpm
that used
ovirt-hosted-engine-setup-1.3.0-1.el7.centos.noarch
vdsm-4.17.10-0.el7.centos.noarch

I presume it is the latest RC available.

after install, inside the sh engine webadmin portal I see:

oVirt Engine Version: 3.6.0.1-1.el7.centos

During storage configuration I choose:

  --== STORAGE CONFIGURATION ==--

During customization use CTRL-D to abort.
Please specify the storage you would like to use (glusterfs,
iscsi, fc, nfs3, nfs4)[nfs3]:

Please specify the full shared storage connection path to use
(example: host:/path): ovc71
.localdomain.local:/SHE_DOMAIN
ESC[92m[ INFO ]ESC[0m Installing on first host
Please provide storage domain name. [hosted_storage]: she_sdomain
Local storage datacenter name is an internal name
and currently will not be shown in engine's admin UI.
Please enter local datacenter name [hosted_datacenter]:
she_datacenter

I don't understand the meaning of the sentence above:

Local storage datacenter name is an internal name
and currently will not be shown in engine's admin UI.

How is the chosen "she_datacenter" name related with the "Default"
datacenter where the hypervisor is put in? Do I have to manually create it
(I don't see this se_datacenter in webadmin portal)?

Also, I know there is open bug

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1269768

But it seems I'm not able to to import the storage domain...
In events, when I import, I have the sequence

Storage Domain she_sdomain was added by admin@internal
VDSM ovc71.localdomain.local command failed: Cannot acquire host id:
(u'9f1ec45d-0c32-4bfc-8b67-372d6f204fd1', SanlockException(22, 'Sanlock
lockspace add failure', 'Invalid argument'))
Failed to attach Storage Domains to Data Center Default. (User:
admin@internal)
Failed to attach Storage Domain she_sdomain to Data Center Default. (User:
admin@internal)

What should be the flow to compensate the bug? Do I have actually to
attache it to "Default" datacenter or what? Is it expected to be fixed
before 3.6?

Thanks,
Gianluca

The Storage Domain disappears from the GUI and isn't seen by ovirt-shell, so
I'm not sure how to delete it. Is there a more low-level command I should run?

Nothing changed after upgrading to 3.5.5, so I've now created a bug report.

Hi all,

Since we upgraded our Ovirt nodes to CentOS 7 a vm (not a specific one but

The Ovirt node uses san storage for the vm's running on it. When a specific vm

What version do you use? I think it was fixed in 3.5.5[1]

If I try to add it again, it first says "The following LUNs are already in use:
...," but if I "Approve operation" I get the same "Cannot zero out volume"
error.

If I try to import, I can log into the target but it doesn't show any "Storage

[ovirt-users] aaa ldap+http sso & user portal

2015-10-26 Thread Sigbjorn Lie
Hi,

The aaa ldap+http sso works perfectly in 3.5.:)

However when logging in to the User Portal there is a slight problem. As I am
logged in directly, I am unable to uncheck the “Connect Automatcally” checkbox.
The user has access to several machines (Linux and Windows), and it’s not a
good idea to simply connect to any one of them.

I have’t been able to find anywhere I can disable the “Connect Automatically”.
I see that it’s code for having is configurable per user in a later version,
but how may I make this go away in the current version? Perhaps a hack which
rips out the ConnectAutomatically() function entirely and replaces it with a
simple “return true”?
