[ovirt-users] Disable iptables management by ovirt

2016-06-11 Thread Mark Gagnon
Is it possible to disable the automated management of iptables rules once
your hosts/engine are running?

@CUSTOM_RULES@ won't cut it because we wanted to filter by source.

Thank you

[ovirt-users] java.io.IOException: Command returned failure code 1 during SSH session

2016-06-11 Thread Gregor Binder
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA256

Hi,

during inspecting the engine.log I found this entry:

-
[org.ovirt.engine.core.uutils.ssh.SSHDialog]
(DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-81) [] Exception: java.io.IOException:
Command returned failure code 1 during SSH session 'root@'
-
Message: Failed to check for available updates on host host01 with
message 'Command returned failure code 1 during SSH session
'root@'
-

Looks like a serious problem because the engine can't check for updates.

cheers

Is there any solution to it on oVirt 3.6?

I am also planning to move hosted engine from NFS storage to ISCSI .

[ovirt-users] hosted-engine vm-status stale data and cluster seems "broken"

2016-06-11 Thread Charles Kozler
See linked images please. As you can see all three nodes are reporting
stale data. The results of this are:

1. Not all VM's migrate seamlessly in the cluster. Sometimes I have to shut
them down to get them to be able to migrate again

2. Hosted engine refuses to move due to constraints (image). This part
doesnt make sense to me because I can forcefully shut it down and then go
directly on a hosted engine node and bring it back up. Also, the Web UI
shows all nodes under the cluster except then it thinks its not apart of
the cluster

3. Time is in sync (image)

4. Storage is 100% fine. Gluster back end reports mirroring and status
'started'. No split brain has occurred and ovirt nodes have never lost
connectivity to storage

5. I reinstalled all three nodes. For some reason only node 3 still shows
as having updates available. (image). For clarity, I did not click
"upgrade" I simply did 'reinstall' from the Web UI. Having looked at the
output and yum.log from /var/log it almost looks like it did do an update.
All package versions across all three nodes are the same (respective to
ovirt/vdsm) (image). For some reason
though ovirt-engine-appliance-3.6-20160126.1.el7.centos.noarch exists on
node 1 but not on node 2 or 3. Could this be relative? I dont recall
installing that specifically on node 1 but I may have

Been slamming my head on this so I am hoping you can provide some assistance

[ovirt-users] Can't start VM after shutdown

2016-06-11 Thread gregor
Hi,

a VM has snapshots which are unable to remove during when the VM is up.
Therefore I power down the Windows Server 2012 VM. The snapshots are
still unable to remove and the VM can't boot anymore !!!

This is the message from engine.log

--
Message: VM srv03 is down with error. Exit message: Bad volume specification
--

Clone is not possible I get:
--
Message: VDSM command failed: Image is not a legal chain
--

All others VM's can be powered down and start without any problem.
What can I do?
This is very important because now no one can work :-( !!!

cheers

[ovirt-users] how to debug no audio in guest?

2016-06-11 Thread Gianluca Cecchi
Hello,
I'm testing video and audio capacity inside a guest.
Guest chosen is CentOS 6 with latest updates.
oVirt is 3.6.6 on an intel NUC6i5SYH with CentOS 7.2 OS

BTW: is it of any importance audio adapter on the host?
In case lspci on host gives
00:1f.3 Audio device: Intel Corporation Device 9d70 (rev 21)

Client connecting from user portal is Fedora 23 on an Asus laptop U36SD
where audio works and lspci gives
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family
High Definition Audio Controller (rev 05)

On CentOS 6 guest the audio adapter detected by OS with lspci is
00:08.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family)
High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)

It seems all ok, apart that on guest actually I don't get any audio, also
from test speakers page ;-)
Both on guest and on client the volume bar is near the maximum.

Any hints about debugging?
>From host point of view the qemu-kvm command line is this one below

I don't understand the env variable
QEMU_AUDIO_DRV=none
???

If it can be of any importance, I initially configured the guest without
sound card and in fact in gnome I saw the audio card as "dummy".
Then I powered off the guest and enabled sound card from user portal edit
vm (I see it enabled also from admin portal btw...) and then powered on the
VM.
Now the sound card seems to be present but no audio

Thanks in advance,
Gianluca
