Is this on the roadmap?

I just bought a bunch of 4k native drives and spent a LOT of money. Now
it seems they are useless in my oVirt/RHEV environment...

Thanks for your help, Markus.  I'll think it through over the weekend
and see if anyone else has any bright ideas to get me out of this mess
and give it a shot Monday.

Bad news,

the only option that worked in our case was to kill the VM. Afterwards we 
sometimes had to compare
OVirt DB and storage filesystem status. Because some of the disk snapshots 
completed in between but
OVirt did not recognize. In the worst case we had to fix the state manually be 
moving image files
(on our NFS), merging images on the command line or manipulating the DB.

First shot would be: Stop VM & backup images + snapshots for the recovery case. 
Afterwards try to
start the VM and see what happens.

If you can consistently reproduce this problem can you do the following?

Installl the debug symbol maps doing this:

yum install ovirt-engine-webadmin-portal-debuginfo ovirt-engine-userportal-
debuginfo

Then reproduce the error and post the stack trace from the UI.log again. The 
one you are posting now is the obfuscated one which we can manually 
deobfuscate but its much easier when the symbols are installed.

[ovirt-users] No VMs to import

Hello,

now that gluster 3.7.14 is out I was able to change the storage domains
mount from NFS back to GlusterFS. The first domain worked flawlessly
this way:

set domain to maintenance -> detach -> remove -> import Domain (this
time GlusterFS) -> import VMs

The other storage domain works too, but in the gui is no tab Import VMs
or Import Disks.

Is there any other way to rescan/reimport VMs on this storage domain?

the size I requested (100G):

oVirt still lists the disk as preallocated in the GUI but it is in fact thin

I see the same issue if I clone a preallocated VM. The size on disk ends up 
being the equivalent of a thin-provisioned disk. I also had the issue when 
importing VM's from an export domain when I had selected preallocated in the 
import dialog box.

Is this a known issue? Should preallocated not mean preallocated on physical 
disk?
