[ovirt-users] Reg: Ovirt keyboard not responding

2017-12-04 Thread syedquad...@ctel.in

Dear Team,

I am using Ovirt 3.x on centos 3 node cluster and in that Ubuntu 14.04 64bit
and Ubuntu 16.04 64bit vm's are installed. But the end users, who are using
this vm's are facing some issue daily and issues are mentioned below,

1. 'ctrl' and 'ESC' key will be pressed automatically and to release this keys,
need to change focus(switch windows or relogin)

2. Automatically some characters are typed such as 'p' and
''

3. If Vm is restarted it is giving black screen, then Vm needs to power off and
start again.

Please provide solution for above issues. Thanks in advance...

[ovirt-users] Stuck import?

2017-12-04 Thread Chas Ecomm
I've got a VM import that has been stuck for over 2 weeks now where I've
migrated off an 3.5 to a new set of 4.1 clusters, and one VM got stuck in
the import process. I was able to re-export it and import it successfully,
but the GUI has been showing this VM hanging there for over 3 weeks. I
can't find an active task on the SPM using vdsClient, either.

Is there some way to clear the tasks out of the GUI if they don't appear on
the SPM?

[ovirt-users] Success Cases with Hyperconvergence

2017-12-04 Thread Vinícius Ferrão
Hello,

I’m looking for success cases of oVirt (and the downstream part: RHV)
specifically on hyperconverged scenarios.

I’m trying to convince a customer to ditch its expensive Nutanix quotation in
favor of a RHV with Gluster architecture.

Looking on redhat page about RHV there’s a lot of cases of RHV on a standard
software defined DC but nothing really expressive on hyperconvergence.

I’m aware that the product is a bit new and the reference architecture is still
on 1.0; but someone have any success case to be a show off?

Thanks,
V.

Eh, NP!

So my thinking is to keep hacking it to make it more feature complete
and see if I maybe can get the code accepted, then, starting from a
suitable release, try getting it into ports.

But it´s not something I´m working especially hard on, just for fun. So
don´t expect too much too soon.

[ovirt-users] Centos Repos vs. oVirt Repos

2017-12-04 Thread Gabriel Stein
Hi all,

Sorry, I'm implementing oVirt and learning all 'by doing'.

I have a Foreman/Katello Instance running and providing the standard
repositories from CentOS: OS(Base), Updates, Extras. All Hosts subscribes
this Repos and I can update all.

Since I installed oVirt on Hosts using the
oVirt-Repos(ovirt-4.1-dependencies.repo and ovirt-4.1.repo) I have this
conflicts with qemu-tools-*.

I already read the files from repos and I saw that the Base Repo from
CentOS has qemu-tools packages and the repos from oVirt too and have than
conflicts with booth(Check Upgrade doesn't works, (Re)install for Hosts
doesn't works too).

When I disable the Base Repo from CentOS on Foreman/Katello everything
works.

Since I'm using all standard repos from CentOS and oVirt, I would like to
know how do you do with this conflicts? Should I disable the Base Repos on
all oVirt Hosts, should I merge them? Add them to Foreman/Katello?

I already sent an E-Mail to List asking about repos conflicts and I would
like to know if there is a 'best-practice' for oVirt-Hosts.

Thanks in Advance!

Best Regards,

Gabriel

Log is quite big (about 1.5GB). I'm filtering out the messages around
the last report of EngineBadHealth <-> EngineUp.

I'll upload in some minutes.

Re: [ovirt-users] oVirt self-Hosted engine- Hosted Engine failover issue

2017-12-04 Thread Martin Sivak
Hi,

there are two major sources of information you need to debug this. All
come from the hosts themselves:

hosted-engine --vm-status - the current status of the cluster, should
be the same on both hosts, but can differ if something is wrong with
the synchronization
/var/log/ovirt-hosted-engine-ha/{agent.log,broker.log} - the log files

The usual reason for migrating (well stopping and starting) the VM are
issues with pinging the configured gateway or crash of the VM.

 Hi,

can you please enable DEBUG log and then attach broker.log once it
 reproduces? See /etc/ovirt-hosted-engine-ha/broker-log.conf for the
place where to set it (do not forget to restart ovirt-ha-agent and
 ovirt-ha-broker afterwards).

Name resolution issues might be the cause for this indeed, because the
broker is trying to query a health endpoint over HTTP. If
notifications failed because of unresolvable name then there is high
chance the same happens to the health request every now and then.
