[ovirt-users] info about changing engine ip mode from dhcp to static

2018-08-17 Thread Gianluca Cecchi
Hello,
a colleague of mine installed oVirt engine 4.2.5 on a test CentOS 7.5
system and in its initial configuration he configured its ip via dhcp
(using static ip assignment configured at dhcp server side).
Now he would like to maintain the same ip/hostname for the engine but with
a static configuration on the server.
Any hint about how to achieve this?

Thanks in advance,
Gianluca

[ovirt-users] Re: oVirt Node 4.2.3.1. to 4.2.5 upgrade trouble, log attached

We have shared storage via NFS via a dedicated Cent7 server.

I'm not so much having issues using 4.2.5, the issue I'm having is that
4.2.3 isn't upgrading to 4.2.4 or 4.2.5, based on errors that I am
hoping the attached log file would clarify for somebody familiar with
the upgrade process.

Thanks,

Truthfully following the install, I don't think I have done *that*

I have done several successful upgrades in the past and most of my

I've been really happy with oVirt, so kudos to the team.

Thanks for any help,

"Cluster Default uses IPTables firewall, which has been deprecated in 4.2 of

If the correct way to change to firewalld edit cluster, and run reinstall?

Hello, have the same problem on my centos7 vms

Solved it though installing cloud-init 18.03 and using Custom script to

Cloud init 18.03 installation:
sudo su -

yum install -y python34
# Install pip3(required by cloud-init)
yum install -y python34-setuptools # install easy_install-3.4
easy_install-3.4 pip
#install cloud-init
yum -y install wget
mkdir /tmp/cloudinitsrc
cd /tmp/cloudinitsrc
wget
https://launchpad.net/cloud-init/trunk/18.3/+download/cloud-init-18.3.tar.gz
tar -zxvf cloud-init-18.3.tar.gz
cd cloud-init-18.3
pip3 install -r requirements.txt
python3 setup.py build
python3 setup.py install --init-system systemd
cloud-init init --local
cloud-init status
echo 'datasource_list: ["NoCloud", "ConfigDrive"]' >> /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg

for svc in cloud-init-local.service cloud-init.service cloud-config.service
cloud-final.service; do
  sudo systemctl enable $svc

[ovirt-users] Re: Poor performance of oVirt Export Domain

2018-08-17 Thread Алексей Максимов
Hello Nir

Thanks for the advice using dd.

I found the main reason for the low level of performance.
The problem was in the faulty battery from cache-module on the disk shelf.
We also used a low-performance RAID configuration.

Thanks for the help.

Yes, VLAN tagging is *not* supported on external provider networks.

The idea there is that you can create multiple isolated logical
networks in the external provider, providing the same functionality as
VLAN does.

You can though connect an external network to a VLAN tagged physical network.
