Don't know what now really worked, but the tasks are gone (restarted engine,
host, ran again the taskcleaner script...)
Thanks anyway!

Found out what caused the trouble: The preallocation of a disk on a NFS storage
(of course) does not work. But instead of throwing an error the task remains
forever and can't be deleted.
Any idea on that?

[ovirt-users] removing FC storage

2018-10-08 Thread David David
How to remove FC storage domain correctly?
I turned off the FC storage domain in the cluster (maintenance -> detach ->
remove), but the volume group still remained on the hosts and I would have
to remove them manually and need to clear a multipath links too, before I
turn off the LUN on the FC storage.
How will the cluster behave if there are differences in the volume groups
on the hosts?
Because I can’t simultaneously delete partitions and multipath links on all
hosts, and this process will occur sequentially on each host.

I should qualify "I went back to using a bond (instead of an individual NIC).

After running yum install ovirt-engine-appliance I ran the usual hosted-engine
-deploy command again per the advice here:
https://ovirt.org/documentation/how-to/hosted-engine/
I trust this is correct.

[ovirt-users] Re: Diary of hosted engine install woes

2018-10-08 Thread me
Okay, I went back to using a bond (instead of an individual NIC). Above
network problem is fixed and now proceeds as far as ever. Hangs for around 10
minutes at:

[ INFO ] TASK [Check engine VM health]
The hosted-engine-setup-ansible-create_target_vm log has:

'ansible_task': u'Check engine VM health', 'ansible_playbook':
u'/usr/share/ovirt-hosted-engine-setup/ansible/create_target_vm.yml',
'ansible_type': 'task'}

Then repeats the following line for around 10 minutes:
2018-10-08 23:42:01,866+0100 DEBUG ansible on_any args

Before eventually, the console outputs the following error:

[ovirt-users] Planned restart of production services

2018-10-08 Thread Evgheni Dereveanchin
Hi everyone,

I will be restarting several production systems within the following hour
to apply updates.
The following services may be unreachable for some period of time:
- resources.ovirt.org - package repositories
- jenkins.ovirt.org - CI master

Package repositories will be unreachable for a short period of time.
No new CI jobs will be started during this period.

I will announce you once maintenance is complete.

Thaks for the reply.

sda is a virual disk because server has an hardware array controller.
So I have to split sda in two smaller disks.

[ovirt-users] Cannot delete a stuck task

2018-10-08 Thread Markus Schaufler
Hi,

The task "Adding disk" is stuck at "creating volume".
I tried to delete the task with "taskcleaner.sh", at CLI with list / remove
jobs, deleted lastly the VM and restartet the engine-vm.
But its still in the task list.

Any idea to remove this job?

But I have no more space for hosted engine (Vm/Data space will be in

Now I could:
- manually resize volumes
- reinstall with custom partitioning and leave 60Gb for hosted engine
volume.

what's the better way?

[ovirt-users] Re: Gluster JSON-RPC errors

2018-10-08 Thread Piotr Kliczewski
This error was raised on vdsm side here [1]. I was unable to find
'getiterator' in vdsm code based.
Please provide gluster related logs.

This error means that 'bool' object had no attribute 'getiterator' and
the call failed with runtime issue.

Thanks,
Piotr

[ovirt-users] Gluster snapshots on hyperconverged with VDO ?

2018-10-08 Thread guillaume . pavese
I evaluate deploying ovirt 4.2 on centos 7.5 with VDO dedup in production.

When deploying gluster with cockpit, after selecting deduplication/compression,
the option to have the brick thin provisioned is grayed out.

As a result, gluster snapshots are not possible. :
 - Neither in CLI : "snapshot create: failed: Snapshot is supported only for
thin provisioned LV. Ensure that all bricks of data are thinly provisioned LV.
"
- Nor through the scheduler in volume management : I see the icon "Volume
snapshots are scheduled" but I do not see any being created. There are no
snapshot creation failure message in the manager.

So I have two questions :
- At deployment, is changing the gdeploy option manually from thick to thin
supported for a LV on VDO device(or even a good idea)?
- Should I open a bug report?

I'm looking into oVirt node.
The node management interface allow to configure network cards as bond
or team.

Is team interface supported by oVirt?

Il 27/09/2018 15:07, Hesham Ahmed ha scritto:

Also I would not create a single bond for use with gluster and
management (even on different VLAN), gluster can saturate 4x1Gbe ports
easily, specially during healing and this would trigger fencing since
engine would start getting timeouts when trying to reach hosts. I
would suggest creating 2 bonded interfaces (2 x 1G each), with one
dedicated for gluster or get a dedicated 10G nic for gluster.

Hello!

I'm almost ready to start with a new oVirt deplyment. I will use CentOS
7, self hosting engine and glusert storage.
I have 3 phisical host. Each host has four NIC. My first idea is:

- configure bond betwheen NICs
- configure a VLAN interface for management network (and local lan)
- configure a VLAN interface for gluster network
- configure gluster for the hosted engine
- start "hosted-engine --deploy" process

is this enough? do I need a phisical dedicated NIC for management network?
