There is nothing to try yet.

The feature is still in design stage, and the underlying libvirt APIs are
in review and not available
even in libvirt upstream code.

The only think you can do is build libvirt with the current patches from:
https://repo.or.cz/libvirt/ericb.git

Then you can use Eric Blake presentation from KVM Forum 2018 (last week) to
test some flows:
https://events.linuxfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Eric-Blake_2018-libvirt-incremental-backup.pdf

[ovirt-users] Re: Networking - How to pass all vlan (trunk) to a guest VM?

2018-11-01 Thread Edward Haas
Yes, not setting any VLAN on a network implies all packets will pass on to
that network from the nic it is configured on.
Please share your host `ip addr` , `brctl show` and the name of the network
you configured.
Do you see relevant packets on the host nic?

Thanks,
Edy.

Hello,

you are right, with "Enable VLAN tagging" VMs should be connected to the
network via a trunk.

It should work, right Edward?

Petr

Can you please check/share the setup (upgrade) logs, from
/var/log/ovirt-engine/setup ?
Also the engine's log in /var/log/ovirt-engine/engine.log .
It might give us a clue.

[ovirt-users] oVirt deployment with GlusterFS with replica 3 arbiter 1

2018-11-01 Thread hunter86_bg
Hello community,

I am planing to deploy a lab with oVirt and I would like to know if the design
in my mind has any flaws.
Current plan is to deploy oVirt on 2 workstations with 24GB of RAM and 8
threads each while the 3rd machine will be a VM in a public Cloud and will be
used for GlusterFS arbiter.

Is it a problem if the arbiter is a vanilla CentOS 7 . I am affraid that oVirt
will require all GlusterFS nodes to be also oVirt Hosts, but the VM will lack
the necessary resources and I would like to not use that 3rd system.
Is this idea possible ?

Thanks for reading this confusing post and I hope I managed to explain my idea.

Best Regards,
Strahil
