[ovirt-users] Re: ISCSI Domain & LVM

2019-01-05 Thread tehnic
Hello Greg,

this is what i was looking for.

After running "vdsm-tool config-lvm-filter" on all hosts (and rebooting them)
all PVs, VGs and LVs from ISCSI domain were not visible anymore to local LVM on
the ovirt hosts.

Additionally i made following tests:
- Cloning + running a VM on the ISCSI domain
- Detaching + (re-)attaching of the ISCSI domain
- Detaching, removing + (re-)import of the ISCSI domain
- Creating new ISCSI domain (well, i needed to use "force operation" because
creating on same ISCSI target)

All tests were successful.

As you wished i filed a bug:
Thank you.

Best regards,
Robert

[ovirt-users] Hosted Engine Storage migration

2019-01-05 Thread joel+ovirt
Hello listmembers!

I'm in search of some steps to use to migrate my Hosted-Engine from one NFS
storage domain to another different NFS storage domain. One of the possible
ways to accomplish this task may already be a feature with oVirt 4.1, I'm using
4.2

https://lists.ovirt.org/pipermail/users/2017-January/078739.html (New feature
in 4.1?)

Will someone elaborate the steps to use this new feature and how I could use it
to accomplish this task? the bug link in the email linked above has a comment
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1409112#c12) - does this mean I
need to redeploy the hosted-engine? I'm not able to follow as I'm new to oVirt
and still learning the ins and outs and design if I'm on the wrong path here
please correct me.

Thank you,

-Joel

[ovirt-users] IoT Big Data design on AWS

2019-01-05 Thread Soujanya Bargavi
I'm trying to design a big IoT solution of millions of devices starting from
zero. That's why I need a highly scalable platform like AWS.

My devices are going to report data using AWS IoT, and that's the only thing
I've really decided. I need to store a lot of data like a temperature measure
every 15 minutes on each device so for that measures I've planned to insert
those measures directly to DynamoDB using IoT Rules, but on the other side, I
need a relational structure to store companies, temperature sensors, etc. So I
thought I could store that in MySQL RDS.

After that, I need to configure a proper analysis tool, so I was thinking of
Kinesis and load the data from Redshift after ETL using Data Pipeline since AWS
https://goo.gl/n2qNUi Glue doesn't support DynamoDB.

I'm new with some of the services so I don't know exactly what I'm doing and I
don't know if this approach is the best one. What do you think?.

[ovirt-users] Re: Ovirt Engine UI bug- cannot attache networks to hosts

2019-01-05 Thread Leo David
Hi,
For the moment, you can go to host properties and hit "setup host network"
from there. It should work.
I will report the bug though, as per Greg's advice.
Cheers,

Leo

On Sat, Jan 5, 2019, 06:58 I am having the same problem with oVirt 4.2.7.1 . Same error when
