[ovirt-users] OKD / Openshift under oVirt
I have ovirt currently running with 3 hyper-converged nodes, and loving it. I've had some issues with kubernetes and would prefer to try out openshift / OKD, but the trick is i'd like to do it in a fault-tolerant way, with a load balancer, 2 masters and 3 works, but I can't seem to find a good way to do it, is there anyone that can offer help? I tried using what was posted to the blog, but it was a single-node install and was never updated with part 2. ___ Users mailing list -- users@ovirt.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@ovirt.org Privacy Statement: https://www.ovirt.org/site/privacy-policy/ oVirt Code of Conduct: https://www.ovirt.org/community/about/community-guidelines/ List Archives: https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/message/R2A43PIZKFD4HZNB4OTETBXGCBAI5JRP/

[ovirt-users] Re: Ovirt 4.3.1 problem with HA agent
Hi Simone, and thanks for your help. So far I found out that there is some problem with the local copy of the HostedEngine config (see attached part of vdsm.log). I have found out an older xml configuration (in an old vdsm.log) and defining the VM works, but powering it on reports: [root@ovirt1 ~]# virsh define hosted-engine.xmlDomain HostedEngine defined from hosted-engine.xml [root@ovirt1 ~]# virsh list --all Id Name State - HostedEngine shut off [root@ovirt1 ~]# virsh start HostedEngineerror: Failed to start domain HostedEngineerror: Network not found: no network with matching name 'vdsm-ovirtmgmt' [root@ovirt1 ~]# virsh net-list --all Name State Autostart Persistent-- ;vdsmdummy; active no no default inactive no yes [root@ovirt1 ~]# brctl showbridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces;vdsmdummy; 8000. noovirtmgmt 8000.bc5ff467f5b3 no enp2s0 [root@ovirt1 ~]# ip a s1: lo: mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN group default qlen 1000 link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00 inet 127.0.0.1/8 scope host lo valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever inet6 ::1/128 scope host valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever2: enp2s0: mtu 9000 qdisc mq master ovirtmgmt state UP group default qlen 1000 link/ether bc:5f:f4:67:f5:b3 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff3: ovs-system: mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN group default qlen 1000 link/ether f6:78:c7:2d:32:f9 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff4: br-int: mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN group default qlen 1000 link/ether 66:36:dd:63:dc:48 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff20: ovirtmgmt: mtu 9000 qdisc noqueue state UP group default qlen 1000 link/ether bc:5f:f4:67:f5:b3 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff inet 192.168.1.90/24 brd 192.168.1.255 scope global ovirtmgmt valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever inet 192.168.1.243/24 brd 192.168.1.255 scope global secondary ovirtmgmt valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever inet6 fe80::be5f:f4ff:fe67:f5b3/64 scope link valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever21: ;vdsmdummy;: mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN group default qlen 1000 link/ether ce:36:8d:b7:64:bd brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff 192.168.1.243/24 is the one of the IPs in ctdb.. So , now comes the question - is there an xml in the logs that defines the network ?My hope is to power up the HostedEngine properly and hope that it will push all the configurations to the right places ... maybe this is way too optimistic. [ovirt-users] Bandwidth problem
Hello Everyone, I have 10Gb connections setup for all the hosts in the cluster, for both management/vm and gluster traffic ( separate network cards ) The problem is that i just cannot pass 1Gb/s traffic between vms ( even between vms running on the same hosts ! - which makes the things more weird... ). Traffic measured by using iperf tool. Is there a way I can check waht could be the problem ? Network card type, vm drivers, any suggestion ? I just do not know where to look for a possible cause. I have observed the same behaviour with oVirt 4.3.XY Delving deeper, in the oVirt engine 'users' table, external_id is *not* being set for AD users as documented in (e.g.) engines/packaging/dbscripts/common_sp.sql "The external identifier is the user identifier converted to an array of bytes:" ovirt 4.3.0 user@domain | f3de0b27-c2a0-463b-a2ff-d480bd88c77f | ece7b8c2-4983-4c1e-9a33-c28d58d40213 And under ovirt 4.2.8 for comparison: username | user_id| external_id user@domain | 364d176e-8813-4e67-bdd0-dc10b823d23c | af5bbg/eTkuktBPXW4Ak5g== Further information on replicating the issue: 1) Configure LDAP authentication: https://www.ovirt.org/documentation/admin-guide/chap-Users_and_Roles.html#configuring-an-external-ldap-provider 2) Add an LDAP group via the Administration Portal: Administration >> Users > 'Add' button, click 'Group' radio-button, select the relevant LDAP authorization select the relevant LDAP authorization provider in the drop-down list under 'Search', enter the LDAP group in the search text-box then click 'GO'. The found group should appear below. Select the toggle-button to the left of the group then click 'Add and Close'. 3) Add SuperUser system permission for the LDAP group. Back under Administration >> Users, click the 'Group' button if groups are not already displayed. Click on the LDAP group added in the previous step then click 'Permissions' -> 'Add System Permissions' 4) Log into the Administration Portal as an LDAP group member. Login should be successful because that user will inherit the SuperUser system permission but note the following issues below: - under Administration >> Users, note that a 'User' icon is displayed for the LDAP user rather than an 'Admin' icon. This is in contrast to 4.2.8, where an Admin icon would be displayed. 5) Repeat step 4 above.
