Hi Sandro,

I will check with my managers if we have and could spare some hardware to
contribute developing for oVirt.

Hi Sandro,

Thank you for the update. I am not equipped to help on development side, but I
can most certainly do test deployments, once there is something available.

We are big oVirt shop and moving to ARM64 with new product, it would be great
if oVirt would start supporting it.

If we are able to help somehow, let me know.

I guess a start could be adding some arm64 machine to oVirt infrastructure so
developers can build for it.

Right now oVirt is not supporting arm64. There was an initiative about
supporting it started some time ago from openEuler ovirt SIG.
I didn't got any further updates on this topic, looping in those who I remember
being looking into it.
I think that if someone contributes arm64 support it would also be a feature
worth a 4.5 release :-)

[ovirt-users] Re: Host reinstall from engine

2021-06-28 Thread Strahil Nikolov via Users
You create gluster as usual.Install OS,prepare the brick (disk alignment is
very important), mount the brick (context= mount option is nice for SELINUX),
then gluster peer probe the new host and then 'add-brick' to expand the volume.
hosted-engine deployment can be done on multiple storages (NFS, GlusterFS, SAN)
and thus the 2 topics should not be confused.
The only requirement for the hosted-engine volume is to apply the 'virt' group
of settings. Previously, there was a requirement that storage phisical blcok
size should be 512, but that could have changed in the past years.

[ovirt-users] Re: Question about Template and Storage Domain

2021-06-28 Thread Eyal Shenitzky
Hi,

You are probably creating the VM as a dependent on the template (thin VM),
it means that the VM's disk should be created on the same storage domain as
the template disk.

In order to create the VM with a disk on a different storage domain, you
can either create the VM as an independent (clone) or copy the template
disk to the storage domain you want to create the VM disk on.

Hi,
You should not modify existing upgrade scripts, because:

1. They are overwritten on RPM package upgrade
2. They are not applied to the database, because we track which upgrade
scripts were already applied and perform only those new scripts which were
not yet applied during engine-setup

Could you please file a oVirt bug in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/ ?

As mentioned above there are many things in dual stack which could be setup
incorrectly and thus breaking the whole oVirt. And it's almost impossible
to mention all possible corner cases into the documentation. So in general
dual stack should work, but due to above it just cannot be marked as
supported.

But if you encounter some issue when running dual stack feel free to file a
bug, so we can investigate.
