[ovirt-users] Re: Add nodes to single node gluster hyperconverged

2021-08-29 Thread Ritesh Chikatwar
Hello,

Can you check if gluster service is enabled on the cluster. To check go to
compute -> cluster -> edit cluster -> you will get popup screen see there
will be one naming "checkbox enable gluster services"
if this checkbox is not enabled then please enable and try.

[ovirt-users] Is there a features comparison between oVirt and Opentack ?

2021-08-29 Thread Tommy Sway
It is best to use a table to list the functional differences in detail.

Thanks.

[ovirt-users] Re: Add nodes to single node gluster hyperconverged

2021-08-29 Thread Strahil Nikolov via Users
I know that the GUi should work in most setups, as oVirt is the upstream of the
Red Hat Gluster Storage Console.
Despite RH being an open-source company, it's also trying to sell support
contracts and thus it's not an open-documentation company - they need to make
money after all.
I know that oVirt is 'hardcoded' (this is intentional) to replica 3 when
upgrading, so you add 2 nodes, then prepare the bricks and modify the volumes
to 'replica 3', then add a new cycle of 3 nodes and repeat.

It's an unfortunate thing that the GUI assumptions can be counter
intuitive in many regards, but i can confirm you can do this in the GUI
as long as the gluster volumes was created in the GUI in the first
place. If not, it will not show up as a volume.

It will as long as the above gluster volume requirement is met, although
if using gluster for hosted engine you typically end up doing that by
hand.

I do this quite often, add hosts to compute, add bricks to a gluster
volume, done deal. However we do tend to use ZFS underneath which is
outside the scope of oVirt. It allows us to re-use existing storage
elements (providing there is enough space) to create temporary volumes
to assist in the process.

[ovirt-users] Failed to Change Disk in Windows VM Setup

2021-08-29 Thread Nur Imam Febrianto
Hi All,

I’m having an issue, where I cant change Disk in Windows Installation Setup.
Don’t know what the cause is, but on 4.4.7 and before it working as it supposed
to be. Because of this issue, I can’t load virtio driver disk to install
Windows using virtio. Is anybody got this strange issue like me ?

Thanks.

[ovirt-users] Import OVA problem

2021-08-29 Thread Dominique D
I have tried exporting 4 VMs (2 centos and 2 Windows) to an nfs mount (export
OVA) and importing from ova and I can't see all the files.

Here are the files in the directory

-rw---+ 1 root root 10739331584 Aug 29 10:27 linux2.ova
-rw---+ 1 root root 1784370176 Aug 28 12:00 linuxtest.ova
-rw---+ 1 root root 64434655232 Aug 28 13:57 vdiw10-2004v1C.ova
-rw---+ 1 vdsm kvm 49040712192 Aug 27 17:21 vdiw10rg06.ova

The only file I see in virtual machine on source is linuxtest.ova and
linux2.ova. Do you know why ?

Actually this step is the same as what performed (new host, because I
pre-remove the existing one...).
And in fact I remember at the beginning of July I made a similar test on
the same test env with ovirt 4.4.7 async 2 node iso and didn't have this
kind of problem.

In the weekend I had to do similar steps with two different SHE
environments with RHV and was able to do as expected, without the
fingerprint error and using the same hostname for the first host I
redeployed in 4.4.
Passed from latest RHV 4.3 to latest 4.4, that currently is iso
4.4.7.4-0.20210804 and is based on 4.4.7 async 2 (Hypervisor Image for RHV
4.4.z batch#6 (oVirt-4.4.7-2) Async #1)

So I think there was something wrong with my system or probably a
regression on this in 4.4.8.

I see these lines in ansible steps of deploy of RHV 4.3 -> 4.4

[ INFO ] TASK [ovirt.ovirt.hosted_engine_setup : Remove host used to
redeploy]
[ INFO  ] changed: [localhost -> 192.168.222.170]

possibly this step should remove the host that I'm reinstalling...?

I will redo the same again on ovirt and eventually open bugzilla with all
log files generated.
