[ovirt-users] Re: oVirt 3 Node with GlusterFS

2021-12-01 Thread Joseph Goldman

Sorry to be clearer

There is 15 Spin disks total

9 SSD disks total

Spin will be split into 3x RAID-5's on the physical hosts (5 disks)
SSD will be split into 3x RAID-5's on the physical hosts (3 disks)

My plan was as you said, create a single brick on each of the 3 spin
RAID-5's and a single brick on each of the 3 SSD RAID-5's - just wasn't
sure if there was a better way to go about it.

Thanks,
Joe

my suggestion, go with each HDD disks as individual bricks with replica 3

2021-12-01 Thread dhanaraj.ramesh--- via Users
Hi Strahil Nikolov

Thank you so much all your valuable input. Finally resolved the issue with
below actions

1) shutdown all the vms running in the volume,
2) temporarily created new folders in another hdd drive ( in all three hosts)
where it had enough free space
3) expanded the issue volume by adding those new folders as a new bricks (
volume changed from replicate to distributed replicate )
4) brought up the storage domain online and moved the over utilized disks to
another storage domain
5) removed the new bricks

now all are back to original setup.

[ovirt-users] Questions about VDSM communication protocol

2021-12-01 Thread Henry lol
Hello,

1. I know vdsm communication adopted rpc over "stomp" and i'm wondering if
it's due to use of the message broker or any other purpose.

2. according to
https://www.ovirt.org/develop/release-management/features/infra/jsonrpc.html,
vdsm has the final plan to completely separate msg broker. Is it still
valid and under development?

3. if so, why is vdsm trying to use msg broker? because it seems enough
even without msg broker.

[ovirt-users] Re: Downloads failing

2021-12-01 Thread Lev Veyde
Hi Gary,

Thanks for letting us know about the issue.
Looks like the repo metadata became corrupted for some reason.

I just finished re-generating the repo, and it should propagate to the
mirrors soon.

As a workaround you can temporarily modify your oVirt repo conf. file to
point to the main distribution site, so you could get the package right now.
To do this please modify /etc/yum.repos.d/ovirt-4.4.repo file, by
removing a hash sign before the line that begins with "baseurl ..." and
putting it before the line that begins with "mirrorlist ..." , so it will
look something like this:

[ovirt-4.4]
name=Latest oVirt 4.4 Release
baseurl=https://resources.ovirt.org/pub/ovirt-4.4/rpm/el$releasever/
#mirrorlist=https://mirrorlist.ovirt.org/mirrorlist-ovirt-4.4-el$releasever
enabled=1
countme=1
fastestmirror=1
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-ovirt-4.4

Please don't forget to return it to the original state after the mirrors
sync, so the packages will be again pulled from the closest mirror.

Thanks in advance,

How to please set up a disk profile server via REST API?
