[ovirt-users] Unable to create VMs under ovirt 4.4

2020-02-13 Thread Dirk Streubel
Hello List,

after a few Problems with the package "java-client-kubevirt" and some
updates Problems on my Hypervisor and my ovirt-engine  i make a totally
fresh installation of ovirt 4.4.

So, after the new installation i can't create a Linux VM.  I get a
message that i don't understand:

Feb 13 10:44:12 hypervisor vdsm[6644]: WARN Attempting to add an
existing net user: ovirtmgmt/9ab115dd-1c21-476d-955f-d4164e4bc5c7

existing net user: ovirtmgmt/9ab115dd-1c21-476d-955f-d4164e4bc5c7

So, which function are missing? I don't know what "hle" and "rtm" stands
for? And searching with Google get no Results.

And it is interesting before the new Installation i was possible to
create a Debian and CentOS VM under ovirt 4.4

Regards

Dirk

[ovirt-users] Update 4.4

2020-01-27 Thread Dirk Streubel
Hello,

i use for testing Version 4.4 and i wanted to make a update.

This is the result:

So, i found this:

https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/org/ovirt/java-client-kubevirt/java-client-kubevirt/0.2.0/

So, do i have to install a.jar to make the engine update or what is the
best way to do the update?

[ovirt-users] Importing a Virtual Machine from a KVM Host

2019-12-05 Thread Dirk Streubel
Hello everbody,

i am just a little bit confused about importing Qemu Images from my KVM Host.

At home, and at work i am using a ovirt engine in a VM. The Version is 4.3.7
and on bare metal my host.

Everything works fine but i have the same problem at home and on work. I want
to import my qcow2
Images from a KVM Host but i

will not work.

The command  virsh -r -c 'qemu+tcp://r...@host1.example.org/system' list --all
shows me akk my VMs.

But when i want to load the images in the GUI, nothing happens. I follow this
instruction:

https://www.ovirt.org/develop/release-management/features/virt/KvmToOvirt.html

After that, i take a look on the official 4.3 Rhev Documentation from Red Hat.
There stand this:

Log in to the proxy host and generate SSH keys for the vdsm user.

sudo -u vdsm ssh-keygen

So, i have no proxy host.  So i want to do this on my ovirt-engine. Is this
right?

Next thing: the user vdsm is locked on the ovirt-engine machine and the host.

So, do i have to unlocked the account of the user vdsm or what is the best way.

My Problem is i found nothing that would help me to solve this problem.

Maybe somebody here do me a favour and help me to solve this "challenge"

Regards

Dirk

2019-11-20 Thread Dirk Streubel
Hello,

thanks a lot for the tip.;)

Yes, this step i have not seen in the document.

I will try to integrate the Host later this day and let you know what the
Result is.

Regard from Castrop-Rauxel  (the world is so small)

[ovirt-users] Newbie Questions

2019-11-17 Thread Dirk Streubel
Hello,

i'am a new user and i have a few questions, maybe somebody can Help.

It is possible to install the Server Management on a Raspberry PI 4 with
4GB.  I find in the official Re Hat Document "Red Hat Virtualization
Manager Hardware Requirements" that 4GB RAM is enough.
And the PI has a 128 GB Flash Card. Would it work? Have somebody tested it?

Another Question: Since yesterday i am trying to ad a host in my
environment on ovirt Version 4.3.6. My Server Management runs under
Fedora 31 under KVM/Virt-Manager without any problems.
Adding a new Host doesn't work. I have tried to ad another VM with 8
Cores and 32 GB RAM as a host. This is not working, maybe VMs in VMs
under ovirt is not possible, i don't know.
So i try  a physical Machine here as a Host. This and the other
Installations fails with the Information: no route to Host. I found a
bug and it says that the bug is closed.
In the bug stand that maybe something wrong with the openvswitch. So i
tried the following commands on the Server Management: ovn-nbctl show
and ovn-sbctl show and the output was nothing.
journalctl -xfe on the host that i want to migrate gave my the output:

Nov 17 10:30:38 hypervisor1.linux.fritz.box sshd[12632]: Accepted
keyboard-interactive/pam for root from 10.2.0.99 port 43260 ssh2

Maybe i mix some things, i don't know :(
