Hi Gaetan,

I am also new to this community, I see a link that may help.

Dear oVirt users,

We are currently looking for a virtualization solution and oVirt seems to be a
good choice for us.
The problem is we have to deploy it on the top of a Ceph/RBD storage.

Maybe I missed something but it seems Ceph/RBD block devices are not available
in oVirt, just like GlusterFS. However Qemu supports it as a native storage
backend. Could you explain why it is not available ?

We saw Ceph storage could be usable through OpenStack Cinder in the 3.6 version
but we don't want/need to deploy an OpenStack infrastructure (and we don't
found complete documentation about that).

Any help on this topic would be much appreciated

Thank you for advance,

Best regards

[ovirt-users] Using librados/Ceph with oVirt possible

2015-09-21 Thread Gaetan SLONGO
Dear users,

I'm currently looking for a VDI solution. One of the requirements is to use OSS
as most as possible and I think oVirt could do the job.
However, we would like to build this VDI infrastructure on the top of a Ceph
storage with RBD.

I know KVM/Qemu supports rbd protocol but I cannot find information about how
to use it with oVirt. It seems I only can use NFS and GlusterFS.

There is any way to use Ceph RDB devices attached to our virtual machines ?

Thank you for advance

Best regards,
