[ovirt-users] Re: VM access to infiniband network
Hi Vinicius, sorry for delay, but project stopped for some weeks. The goal is to have a couple of VMs to access Infiniband network. Actually i managed to enable virtual functions for mellanox card and i am trying to configure pass-through to virtual cards (ib0 to ib8 devices). Still i am unable to create a passthrough vnic as i am not able to associate ib* ports to a network bridge due to this error: "The bridge cannot use IP over InfiniBand interface as port. Please use RoCE interface instead" Therefore i can't have a defined network profile and vnic creation is not possible. Any idea? I looked at documentation finding nothing. thank you Didi, let's focus on first problem: hosted engine. For other problems i will open other threads, just to give other users clearer threads. i restored the hosted engine just to move it to a new storage domain. I followed the step-by-step guide from redhat: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/2998291 I already did those steps successfully, but this time i noticed that --noansible option was no more available during provisioning step: hosted-engine --deploy --noansible become hosted-engine --deploy I tried first to use an iscsi target as new SD with no luck and then i used an NFS SD. Restore has been done after deploying, as documented in the link above. Installation job and setup job gave no errors, but now engine is not inside vm list. Any hint about what to search for? Is there any way to solve this issue?
Web management interface is working except for the fact that i can't add new
nodes and forget a storage domain which is no more existent.

Hi all, i am trying to use a mellanox 100g infiniband interface (EoIB) for VM usage. Acuallu, trying to configure hosts to user it, i have an error and in vsdm.log i see: The bridge ovirtib cannot use IP over InfiniBand interface ib0 as port. Please use RoCE interface instead. ib0 is configured with an ip address and it is correctly working, used to mount nfs directoryes on cluster nodes. Did anybody face this issue? Hi all, i am facing a problem while trying to associate a Mellanox infiniband interface to a network and using it for VM traffic. vdsm log shows the following message: The bridge cannot use IP over InfiniBand interface as port. Please use RoCE interface instead. Did anybody face the same problem and solve it?
