I have updated the bug. The only side effects I noted from this is that VDSM does not seem to be able to read/report TX/RX stats IB cards properly. Yes you are right there is a known issue with the mac address length in IB cards. IIRC there was a hardware vendor who was working on a patch to extend the length and add the appropriate validation.
