Strongly suggest to use the appliance, this will make the process easier,
quicker and less error prone. More than that, the install is geared for
that. if you have a reserved mac address which is resolved and the storage
space ready, you can get up and running in 15 minutes or so.

Thanks for your reponse, No I have not tried that but I was able use the

decided to start over but there is no easy way to start over. Also the disk
that was used for installing the VM could not be reused even though there

Did you tried running
 yum install ovirt-engine-appliance
?

It will download a ready to use Centos base appliance with oVirt engine on it.
