Don't forget  to run a ping with a size of  8500 and "do not fragment" flag.
This  will really prove that you are no longer using the small MTU anywhere on 
the path.

The NIC is virtual, it's not going to show a link speed.  This doesn't have
much to do with the old version of oVirt, I run the newest version and
ethtool simply outputs . that a link is detected with no other details.
The VMs will run at whatever speed is configured on the host backend.

It seems that our oVirt instance never exceeds 550Mbps aggregate traffic
(rx / tx) according to nvstat. I want to make sure that the negotiated
speed, handshaking, etc. are all what I expect them to be from the OS level.
