I'm afraid there's no design doc for it. Here's list of changes:

* domain metadata
  * added: alignment, block_size
  * removed: logblksize, phyblksize

* volume metadata
  * added: cap (replacement for size, capacity is size in bytes, while size 
was in mutiples of block size (512B))
  * removed mtime, pool_uuid, size

If you want more details about the changes, you can check slides [1]

I'd like to add a question on storage domains.

When will storage domains become obsolete? Like kind of a road map.

I'm asking because we are operating a OpenStack Cinder V1 Domain to access Ceph 
RBD images. I know this is only a former tech preview, but this preview is 
doing solid work. So I'd like to know, when this will go away.
