[ovirt-users] OVA Import Fail
Anyone getting issues with OVA Imports on 4.4? I exported this from ovirt back in March although now importing again it is failing. [ovirt-users] ova import
I am running Ovirt 4.3 and exported machines as ova which includes disks. When I re import them. the disks are thin provisioned and the vm will not boot. Any idea how to get the import to preallocate disks? I have vms that will not boot. It states no bootable disk is available. It seems the virt2vm isn't working correctly. ANy help would be appreciated. Thanks Nate, The Engine log is correct but the vdsm one is without the error, it maybe the wrong host, the log that we expected is the one you named CTI04. [ovirt-users] OVA Import - Failed to convert VM
Hey All, I am trying to import a VM into oVirt. I am attempting to use the web interface to do so. I started by exporting a ova file directly from VMware Workstation. I uploaded the file to the local hard disk of a virtual host. Changed the permissions on the file to 36:36. The last step from what I can see was to go into the web interface and "import" the VM. I used the VMware Virtual Appliance as the source and specified the local path to the ova. It detected the ova, and I was able to move it into the "Virtual Machines to Import" box. After oVirt starts the import of the VM it ends up failing with the error "Failed to convert VM", and then shortly after it deletes the VM. I am attaching a snippet of the engine.log, but I can't really make heads or tails of the error messages in there. I am on oVirt 4.0.5. The virtual host is running CentOS 7. Thanks in advance! Hi, My last VM imported in 2 minutes. This one has been sitting for three hours. I think this is a bug. [ovirt-users] OVA import of FC21 VM hangs during virt-v2v conversion?
Hi, I've successfully imported several VMs already, so I thought I had the process down. Each import completed relatively quickly. So that's why this one was such a surprise. I've got a Fedora 21 VM packaged into an OVA. I copy it to my ovirt host and then [Virtual Machines] -> Import -> [OVA] and select the ova file. Follow the process, assign the correct storage location, and let it go. Usually it takes only a few minutes, but it's been sitting in the conversion process for over 20 minutes already (multiple attempts end in the same place). It's only a 4GB disk; the other imports were all around the same size and took significantly longer. I tried running virt-v2v by hand: LIBGUESTFS_BACKEND=direct virt-v2v -v -x -i ova fedora21.ova -of raw -o null and it hung here: guestfsd: main_loop: new request, len 0x28 guestfsd: main_loop: proc 26 (aug_close) took 0.03 seconds libguestfs: trace: v2v: aug_close = 0 libguestfs: trace: v2v: selinux_relabel "/etc/selinux/targeted/contexts/files/file_contexts" "/" "force:true" guestfsd: main_loop: new request, len 0x6c commandrvf: stdout=n stderr=y flags=0x0 commandrvf: setfiles -F -e /sysroot/dev -e /sysroot/proc -e /sysroot/selinux -e /sysroot/sys -r /sysroot -q /sysroot/etc/selinux/targeted/contexts/files/file_contexts /sysroot/ Can't stat exclude path "/sysroot/selinux", No such file or directory - ignoring. ^C Any ideas why this VM is different from all the other VMs? -derek -- Derek Atkins 617-623-3745 de...@ihtfp.com www.ihtfp.com Computer and Internet Security Consultant ___ Users mailing list Users@ovirt.org http://lists.ovirt.org/mailman/listinfo/users
