 Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I am using centos for host. What engine host in your definition? Is the
host PC where engine VM is running on the top?

The physical host or VM witch runs the engine.

I am doing the walkthrough as

I am glad to test your new 3.5.1 in my environment.

Re: [ovirt-users] console viewer for ovrit engine

2014-12-19 Thread Yue, Cong
So. It means the web-proxy should be installed into the engine inside the virt
nodes where host the VM.
The ovirt engine is with centos 6.6.

I will have a try for this later.

Thanks,
Cong

I checked but also it saids there is no such package. It works now
 with my native client.

 Some strange..

The oVirt websocket proxy is part of the engine and it's by default
installed on the engine host when you install the engine; engine-setup asks
if you want to configure it or not.
Than, if you really need for your network design, you can also install and
configure the websocket proxy on a different host.
 http://www.ovirt.org/Features/WebSocketProxy_on_a_separate_host
but this is already a special case.

I read in this thread that you are using centos7 (also for the engine
host?).
We didn't release oVirt 3.5.0 for el7 but we'll do since 3.5.1 which is
targeted just after Christmas vacation (you are welcome to help us testing
it on centos7!) so now you still cannot find ovirt-websocket-proxy rpm for
el7 on the stable branch.
If you really need to install it right now on el7 you can try from nightly
snapshot.

 Thanks,

 Cong

I checked the vv file, and it seems good. And with my native virt-viewer, I can
use the console. The only issue I have is the console inside browser.

nevermind, you are talking about console viewer, I misunderstood. for console

wordpad and see what host its pointing you back too... this should give you a
good place to start

Yes, I am using centos for host. What engine host in your definition? Is the
host PC where engine VM is running on the top?

I am using firefox and chrome in Ubuntu 14.04 desktop OS.

Is there any setting or requirements for the browser-embeded console viewer?

Also if I select other console options as native client, one .w file will be
downloaded, what is the recommendation to open these .w files with some
native viewer for Ubuntu 14.04 desktop?

Thanks,

You need to import the certificate as an Authority, not as a regular
certificate. Also check that it can sign other certificate, there should be 3
checkboxes if you import it in the right location.

Also if I select other console options as native client, one .w file will be
downloaded, what is the recommendation to open these .w files with some native
viewer for Ubuntu 14.04 desktop?

The file should be opened by virt-viewer (remote-viewer)

I installed virt-viewer into my PC. And also I have the console.vv downloaded
from the browser. How can I launch virt-viewer with that vv file?
I tried with virt-viewer console.vv, but it seems it is wronfg.

 Hi

I finally created VM and it seems work well. But for the administrator
menu, but I can not show the browser-embeded console, noVNC and Spice
HTML5 browser client. I am using firefox and chrome in Ubuntu 14.04
desktop OS.
Is there any setting or requirements for the browser-embeded console
viewer?

html5 support is all you need iirc

And install the CA cert on your browser.

Also if I select other console options as native client, one .w file
will be downloaded, what is the recommendation to open these .w files
with some native viewer for Ubuntu 14.04 desktop?

The file should be opened by virt-viewer (remote-viewer)

 Thanks,
 Cong

I installed the cert as authorities from chrome advanced setting. But it still
nothing message for Spice html5 client, and connection timeout for noVNC.
By the way I also already add rule accept 6100 tcp port.

Is there some log I can check ?

Thanks,
Cong

he said he was using chrome, and chrome doesn't ask it downloads you then need
to open the settings, and advanced... import to the trusted CA store

I am trying to install the ca.crt to my chrome. But during the
installation, password is asked, I tried with the only password of my
admin password, but it failed. Is there any other password for this?

 Thanks,
 Cong

You need to import the certificate as an Authority, not as a regular
certificate. Also check that it can sign other certificate, there should be
3 checkboxes if you import it in the right location.

Is it error 1006 in the novnc console, or connection timeout
1006 = you need to trust the CA
connection timeout = you don't have a connection setup, or iptables is
 not allowing port 6100 in

Try stopping iptables or adding the correct rule iptables -A INPUT -p
tcp -m state --state NEW -m tcp --dport 6100 -j ACCEPT or the more
 permenant method vi /etc/sysconfig/iptables

 -A INPUT -p tcp -m state --state NEW -m tcp --dport 6100 -j ACCEPT

 service iptables restart
