Hi Sandro,

Isn't guest agent installed with guest tools?

I have a similar situation with Windows 2016 or Windows 10 (64 bit) where
although I have installed oVirt Guest Tools 4.1-5.fc24 (and seems working
as apps are listed, IPs are shown, etc) when going to perform a snapshot it
mentions:

Could not detect Guest Agent on the VM. Note that without a Guest Agent the
data on the created snapshot may be inconsistent.

The above issue is also with 4.2 version of guest tools.

What do we need to check further?

[ovirt-users] AD authentication not working after upgrade to 4.2.5

 I have upgraded from 4.2.4 to 4.2.5 and in our AD profile users can no 
longer login.

in the engine log I am getting

Checked with Femi about "OVirt Guest Service" being started and running
within the service manager.
Looks like the service is running, need Tomas to look into it. Adding Tomas.

Based on the IRC discussion it seems to me as a bug in Engine. But we
will need more information to tackle that. Please open a bug on
ovirt-engine.

Please also enable debug logs in VDSM and attach engine.log and vdsm.log
from the time the VM started to the time of the snapshot.

   I have resolved it by running engine-setup again.
I originally did 
yum update ovirt-release42
yum update ovirt-engine-setup ovirt-engine-setup-plugin-websocket-proxy
engine-setup

I have now run  
yum update then engine-setup again.

[ovirt-users] Invalid status on data centre after affinity enforcement rules run

I have a newly built three node HCI glusterFS cluster (deployed with
cockpit) running ovirt 4.2.5

I'm noticing that a few times a day I'm seeing the following event log:

Invalid status on Data Center Default. Setting status to Non Responsive.

In every single case it happens about 10 seconds after the previous event
log:

Affinity Rules Enforcement Manager started.

Is it normal to see this temporary non responsive state of the default data
center?

I've also noticed something a bit odd with my hostedEngine.  It seems to be
restarting on its own and correlates to around the time the above warnings
are in the event log.

My hosted engine says it has an uptime of 10 minutes right now but I
haven't touched it or rebooted it in several days.  The events for
hostedEngine specifically don't show any logs or problems for several
weeks.

Question is, why is the default data center intermittently going
non-responsive and why is my hostedEngine seemingly restarting itself?

[ovirt-users] VLAN tagging with external provider networks

Hi,

I see that checking the "External provider" box whilst creating networks clears 
and grays out VLAN tagging. Is VLAN tagging for external provider networks not 
supported?

You can try using vdsm-client to check if there are running tasks on the
host using this command:

vdsm-client Host getAllTasksInfo

If there are running tasks, you can stop them:

vdsm-client Task stop taskID=xxx-yyy

If there are finished tasks, you can clear them:

vdsm-client Task clear taskID=xxx-yyy

i tried using command line but encountered this error

i also tried downloading ovirt-node iso and using WEBUI but encountered same 
problem

i deployed this hosted-engine 3.5 without any problems.

any thoughts?
