[ovirt-users] Re: [ANN] oVirt 4.3.5 Third Release Candidate is now available for testing

2019-06-27 Thread Strahil
I've mentioned it into the bug that tracks gluster6 integration with oVirt ->
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1693998

At that time, oVirt was still not using gluster v6 , so I didn't open a
separate bug.

As I'm currently on the go, I can open a bug with more details in Monday.

[ovirt-users] VM IPsec network performance

2019-06-27 Thread TranceWorldLogic .
Hi,

I have enable multi-queue feature on nic card and I am getting normal
throughput as 26 Gbps.
But when I am trying throughput test with IPsec I am getting only max
1.5Gbps. After looking at CPU usages, it is free more than 50%, I am not
getting why low throughput in ipsec case.

Below are my trial:
2nd, I tried to distribute multi-queue interrupt on mult-cpu but got same
result.
3rd, I tried nic passthrough and enable RSS, I got good throughput and CPU
usages.

Please help me to understand how to increase vnet performance for VM. And
also suggest me about ovirt setting.
I have also seen some presentation in google around virtio-crypto but as I
am using Guest and Host OS as centos 7.3, I can't use virtio-crypto device.

Thanks,
~Rohit

Ok, the packages and versionlocks are not shown, because the were disabled by
default on a ovirt node.

The next command makes the possible to see the locked but potential upgradable
packages (up to 128).

# yum --enablerepo=base --enablerepo=updates --enablerep=extras
--enablerepo=epel versionlock status

Upgrade, or not upgrade? This is the question, Didi says wait for next release.
Another thing is the „oVirt Node Master - Latest master, experimental“.

If it's so urgent for you, or if you need to test something before
production, you can always try latest jenkins build:

https://jenkins.ovirt.org/job/ovirt-node-ng-image_4.3_build-artifacts-el7-x86_64/

Anyway, since 4.3 is out for some months now, I'd definitely not
recommend master branch for 4.3 setups that hope for some stability
(even if trying jenkins builds). I am pretty certain that it already
diverted from 4.3 quite a lot.

Well, with 4.1 and 4.2 I just enabled the CentOS repos and did the upgrades,
there was no versionlock.

btw, on my engine I see a few versionlocks too.

...snip
# yum versionlock list
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, versionlock
ovirt-engine-webadmin-portal-4.3.4.3-1.el7.noarch

ovirt-engine-extension-aaa-jdbc-1.1.10-1.el7.noarch
versionlock list done
snap...

That makes me guess that there could be some important locks on ovirt node and
makes me hesitate to unconditionally disable them. I wonder how 4.3 behaves
when installed on top of CentOS (not ovirt node).

configure it like this:

Hm ... Removing it from the gluster but not inside oVirt can cause a lot of
headaches.
Can you find that image in oVirt Storage -> Disks

Sadly , you got no other option and the optimal approach would be to take the
deletion from oVirt UI/API before the storage gets full.

Ovirt has the option to notify you in advance.

2019-06-27 Thread Strahil
It looks OK to me , but I'm no expert in that.

In such case you will have 5 GB as a reserve, which you can reduce, just to be
able to delete some data (in this case VM).
The question that comes to my mind is - did you receive any warning by oVirt
that gluster is almost full ?

You might be hitting a multipath config issue.

On a 4.3.4. node-ng cluster I had a similar problem. spare disk was on
/dev/sda (boot disk was /dev/sdb)

I found this link
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/45889799/pvcreate-failing-to-create-pv-device-not-found-dev-sdxy-or-ignored-by-filteri

which led me to lsblk /dev/sda and then add the "displayed wwid" to the
multipath.conf blacklist.
after restarting multipathd, I was able to use the cockpit wizard to
install gluster on /dev/sda.

It looks OK to me , but I'm no expert in that.

In such case you will have 5 GB as a reserve, which you can reduce, just to be
able to delete some data (in this case VM).
The question that comes to my mind is - did you receive any warning by oVirt
that gluster is almost full ?

After empty the image file, the data center came up and I was able to remove
the VM disk on oVirt Web GUI.
What is the best practice to stop gluster to fill all the disk?
When I had a new storage gluster domain in advanced parameters I usually
configure it like this:
Warning Low Space Indicator (%): 20
Critical Space Action Blocker (GB): 5
Warning Low Confirmed Space Indicator (%): 20

is this the best way?

I just empty a big image here

and everything looks like it's working again.

Hi,

The glusterfs domain disk data master is full and the volume is down.
I have this error:
VDSM NODE2 command SpmStatusVDS failed: Cannot inquire Lease(name='SDM',
path=u'/rhev/data-center/mnt/glusterSD/ node2.abc.pt
:_data/0a19a375-77cb-47e5-af12-7b5451e6fa53/dom_md/leases', offset=1048576):
(2, 'Sanlock get hosts failure', 'No such file or directory')

Cannot delete de domain because is the data master.
Version 4.3.4.3 -1.el7

What can I do?

Thanks

José

[ovirt-users] Re: disk description

2019-06-27 Thread Dmitry Filonov
Sorry, somehow your message went to spam and I missed it.
Disk is not encrypted. But I wanna change some disk details (as simple as
description) for the disk that is not attached to any VMs.
Just a disk under oVirt.
Exactly the the bug Gianluca was talking about.
