My preference is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Long Term Support) for production
servers. In any event, you have several choices re: installation (in no
particular order):

   - SOGo, Samba4 & OpenChange Install |
iabsis
   - SOGo& Open-Source Groupware | Linux
Journal
   - ZEG install script
   - HowTo build your own OpenChange/SOGo appliance |
OpenChange
   - SOGo | Debian Wiki

RE: Limitations of the VirtualBox ZEG appliance:

   - No SSL (like you mentioned);
   - No SMTP-AUTH;
   - No spam/virus filtering.

If you can get the ZEG VirtualBox appliance running, I believe that
VirtualBox is able to export to other virtualization formats, e.g.

   - How to convert a Virtual Box image to Xen
Source
   - Converting VirtualBox VM to a Xen Hypervisor Virtual
Machine

[SOGo] IMAP SPECIAL USE

2013-12-17 Thread Christian Rößner
Hi,

just a short question:

does SOGo support IMAP SPECIAL USE? As seen here:

Thanks in advance

Personally I would really really love if the SOGo devs would provide a
minimal Debian VM Appliance that is running *only* the SOGo components,
and expects the MTA (ie, postfix, exim, etc) and MDA (ie dovecot, cyrus,
etc) to be on a completely different system (so all we needed to do was
plug in those IP addresses and AUTH info).

I'm a gentoo linux guy, which is what our current mailserver is on, and
I loathe Debian, Ubuntu, Redhat, CentOS, etc - in other words, all of
the distros that SOGo natively supports - and have been struggling with
getting a Debian system up and running (secured the way I like/want
it)... I'm almost there, but it has been a royal hassle...

[SOGo] new installation ... best way?

2013-12-17 Thread Kai-Uwe Rommel
Hello,

I am new on this list ... my greetings to all.

I am evaluating SOGo for a private solution for my own family.
I would run it as a VM on my company's ressources but completely
separated from the company network. I am currently thinking over
if I should start with the ZEG appliance VM or install from scratch.

I am not a Linux expert but have more experience with Windows
servers. However, I can install and configure Linux servers as
far as I need them for my work, such as when I need them as
base for IBM middleware servers and I think I am sufficiently
fit with networking infrastructure (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP ...).

I already tested a ZEG appliance VM and as far as I can see, the
only real change required to it in order to actually use it would
be the addition of SSL for HTTP and IMAP/SMTP. I think I will
be able to configure this.

But there is also the rather cosmetical issue that I would like to
"rename" the LDAP server base from example.com to my own name space.
I cannot figure out how to do this ... do you have any advice?

Do you think that this approach is OK? Or should I rather try to
install the complete stack myself on a plain Linux VM?

If so, I would have to choose between Debian and CentOS - which
would you prefer?

The SOGo installation manual does only cover SOGo itself,
not the base products. Is there any commented installation
guideline out there about how to install all this?

Thanks for any insights!

Hello
You are at the same step that me
Same here with the same message. Yes i forgot to tell you for python library .
I opened a bug for the update of the documentation but unfortunally it is
closed without fix.

No, I didn't knew of it. I tried openchange_user_cleanup user and i found
out, that python-mysqldb package was not installed. So i installed it and
upgraded the other packages. One of them was dovecot from 2.1.7 to 2.1.17.

After upgrade there was no trust in dovecot. Because webinterface worked
before install and upgrade, i guess it was there before, but i am not sure.
However, i added it.

After these three changes openchange/samba4 is more stable, but it crashed at
least one time again. Furthermore display of mails in Outlook-Sent folder
isn't ok. Another Problem: Calendar-Entries which i created in Outlook are ok
in webinterface, but Outlook says in day/week-view, that it cannot read the
calendar. In list-view the entries are displayed correctly.

I will configure my client to the english language, check my install and
hopefully be able to provide better information afterwards.

> Samba crashs the first time you connect outlook ?
Yes. I created a new user. My first login was via mutt and Thunderbird.

Regards
Mario

Re: [SOGo] Headsup: Dovecot 2.1.17 now in sogo wheezy repos

2013-12-17 Thread Markus Meissner
Hi,

thanks for the update. It would be great if you could also rebuild
dovecot-antispam.

Best regards Markus Meissner

Hi,

I've just uploaded dovecot 2.1.17 to our repos for debian wheezy (both amd64
and i386). I did this since the package shipped with wheezy (2.1.7) contains a
bug[1] in the handling of sieve commands that was fixed upstream back in
February 2013. Unfortunately, the commit never found its way back to debian
stable.

The package is essentially a rebuild of the package found in debian jessie, no
patch added.

If for some reason you don't want to use this package, you'll need to manually
exclude it.

Thanks.

That is impossible, because it is 64 bit.

The easiest way would be to get the current ZEG running, get all
configuration files and the list of installed packages.
Then set up Ubuntu 32 bit, install the same packages and copy the
configuration files into it.
