[SOGo] Thunderbird calendar 'momentarily not available'

2016-04-15 Thread Chris Hastie
I have a problem with one user's calendar. Although he seems to see it
without problem, all those he has shared it with see it displayed in the
Thunderbird list with a small yellow triangle and the tool tip "The
calendar Dom is momentarily not available". An initial look at the SOGo
logs suggested that the child process was running out of memory. I've
bumped up SxVMemLimit which seems to have stopped such messages
appearing, but the yellow triangle persists. At first only a subset of
the user's events appeared to others, but most, if not all of them seem
to have appeared now. The Thunderbird error log reports several things
including a 'multiget error' and '[calCachedCalendar] replay action
failed'. There doesn't appear to be much of interest in the sogo logs
now the memory has been increased. The user in question is keen to keep
all his historic appointments should he ever need to look back at
things, so we kicked off by importing over 2000 events.

Any ideas where I should look, or how best to debug this?

Here's what turns up in the SOGo log
Apr 15 16:27:56 sogod [29268]: 192.168.7.34 "REPORT

[SOGo] Resource does not send emails

2016-04-15 Thread Sten Anderson
I have created a Calendar resource which works fine in the sense that it
accepts meeting requests but it does not send an e-mail to the event
creator. For example when the resource is booked, it would be very good
to get an e-mail notification about that.

I have SOGoAppointmentSendEMailNotifications = Yes and e-mail address
for the resource is set.

Re: [SOGo] SOGo ActiveSync processes hanging in the same request

2016-04-15 Thread Florian Unger

Hi,

thanks for the feed back, but I tried already a lot of different settings
- no Sync size
- small Sync size (512)
- large Sync size (10240)
- short Watchdog timeout (6/10min)
- long watchdog timeout (1 hour)
and for all I got the same problem that processes are hanging in the same
request.

I was hoping for some new angles to attack that issue and perhaps somebody can tell
something from the log files and backtraces I provided?

Has somebody hints how to narrow down the possible root cause?
Additional debug output, ... - something more profound than fishing in the dark with
different settings?

Best regards
Florian

Hello Florian,

SOGoMaximumSyncWindowSize seems to be tricky: I had similar problems (SOGo V2.8) with
it. When set > 0, SOGo will use this value regardless what the client wants. Outlook
seems to request something small and when it more items than it requests the whole fetch
will be descarded and startet from the beginning.
For me it worked when SOGoMaximumSyncWindowSize is unset in the configuration file, then
SOGo respects what the client is requesting. Setting it to 0 should be the same, but
only when unset it worked in my case.

Hi,

I am having some trouble with a small scale SOGo installation (less than 10 users)
using SOGo 3.0.2 with ActiveSync and Outlook 2013 clients.
I have SOGo configured for 15 workers and these are the ActiveSync specific settings
I am using:

  WOWorkersCount = 15;
  SOGoMaximumPingInterval = 600;
  SOGoMaximumSyncInterval = 600;
  SOGoInternalSyncInterval = 30;
  WOWatchDogRequestTimeout = 6;
  SxVMemLimit = 768;
  /* Debug */
  SOGoEASDebugEnabled = YES;

After some time processes keep hanging in the same request until all workers are
occupied and I get error "[WOWatchDog]> No child available to handle incoming request!"

At the end is an example of the log file of process 6808 and the last requests it
got. I also made backtraces with gdb from that process (see attachment) - the
process was either in function NGDescriptorRecv or in a sleep from
SOGoActiveSyncDispatcher.

I tried increasing timeouts up to 1 hour as suggested in the Active Sync tuning
hints from the manual, but that did not help. Processes were sitting just longer
until they got killed by the watch dog.

Any hint how to resolve this issue would be great.

Best regards
Florian

All samba versions up from 4.2 needed to be upgraded because of this:

This wording is a bit wrong. ALL samba versions are vulnerable - but

See the new default behaviour to prevent MitM attacks. If you want the

But this is somehow contrarious to the security update to prevent
MITM-Attacks...

So the question remains, is it possible to use SOGo with SASLAuth.

I have been busy reading about the changes Canonical plan to make to
SAMBA on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS from next Tuesday (19th April) to assess the
impact for our customers. My understanding from the release notes
(https://www.samba.org/samba/history/samba-4.3.8.html) of the version
they are planning to upgrade to leads me to believe the LDAP
authentication will continue to work if you use TLS.

From the SOGo manual, the syntax for this in sogo.conf is:

   hostname = ldap://127.0.0.1/!StartTLS;

(This assumes SAMBA is on the same box as SOGo but otherwise adjust
the IP address/hostname.)

This should operate correctly with either "ldap server require strong
auth = yes" (new default) or "ldap server require strong auth =
allow_sasl_over_tls" in your smb.conf and provide the MITM protection.

I am not in a position to be able to test this today, so it would be
great if you could and report back?

For me it is *not* working.
Besides using TLS, I need to set
ldap server require strong auth = no
in order to get ldap auth working in sogo.
All other options of this smb parameter result in "strong(er)
authentication required"-errors in sogo.log.

Any hints how to solve this?

Best regards
Heiner

For the samba 4.2 package to start in an AD configuration, you need to
