Re: [SOGo] Is SOGo Connector dead?

2022-10-31 Thread "t.b.mailingli...@igeno-fat.de"

Bonjour Sebastien,

i can see the icons in the calendar tab now. The icon in the centre and
on the right seem to work, but the left icon/button "Create CALENDAR"
opens the "Create new ADDRESSBOOK" dialogue window. But after entering a
name and hitting the button "Create" nothing happens. The window stays
opened.

Maybe it is just a translation mistake for German language because in
the old AddOn 78.0.1 the left icon/button also opens the "Create new
ADDRESSBOOK" dialogue window and after entering a name, a new calendar
gets successfully created.

The corresponding error in the Thunderbird ErrorLog  after hitting the
create button in the dialogue Window is:

Uncaught TypeError: window.arguments[0].createFolder is not a function

have specific indications that they will stop development of
sogo-connector? It would be a pity, especially because TB is
getting a major overhaul since about 2 years.

No. No specific indications. However their product is:

"SOGomail by Alinto"
Powerful business-class mail Server for organisations that are
looking for a proven European alternative.

And I don't see any indication that they will support Thunderbird.
Come to that support from Inverse was not really enthusiastic in
the last release.

As mentioned our best bet is to work to get most of this into TB
itself or a lightweight addon.

QUOTE:

"If you want additional information exported (to the vCalendar or vCard

information is. Then send the winmail.dat file, along with the -v
listing to me (randall.h...@gmail.com <mailto:randall.h...@gmail.com>)
along with some information & justifications. It works best if you send
several data files, showing the option in various states to back up your
claim. For example, if you want me to parse recurrence patterns encoded
in the TNEF stream, then send yourself several meeting requests with
almost identical information, and several different recurrence patterns,
and (hopefully) the only fields that change will the the UID & the
recurrence information."

Hi again,

this maybe does not work for your problem.  :/

At least calendar entries in winmail.dat files are not send as *.isc,
instead they seem to be embedded in MAPI (Microsoft proprietary
Messaging Application Programming Interface).

This software for MAC can decode this:

But it seems https://github.com/verdammelt/tnef/   can not  (please

Someone would have to extend https://github.com/verdammelt/tnef/ to
contain the MAPI decoding and conversion to *.ics.  The original

LookOut has many problems.  Sometimes It can not "save all"

There are server side converters which are able to unpack the

The can be plugged in e.g. Dovecot like e.g. virus scanners (e.g.
