Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird Status

2021-01-13 Thread Frank Pauxberger

Hi Christian,

I have started with SOGo some time back in 2011 and still love it after
about 10 years. It does everything I need and look for and I keep
recommending it! Great work once more and once again!!

This time though I have to admit I am slightly disappointed on whatever
happens around the Plugin for TB78. I have tested it over and over again
with varying results, always using the latest versions of the SW
required. And with various comments here in the mailing list.

But I fully agree, it is not production ready.

So for now I stay on TB68 in Prod and have a test instance with TB78
using TbSync/provider for CalDAV and CardDAV/Category Manager. That is
sort of ok but nothing I would recommend in larger scenarios. I am
really (really really, Ludovic) looking forward to having a reliably
working SOGo Connector for Thunderbird 78.

What is the bottle neck?

Kind regards
Frank

Hello all,
I wanted to ask what the current plan/status is of the TB Plugin for
78. It is not really ready for production yet.

So what are the plans?
Is there a timeline?
What are other doing in the meantime? Stay on 68 ?

Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird 78 Connector

2020-11-06 Thread Frank Pauxberger

Hi Greg,

I followed the steps at https://github.com/inverse-inc/sogo-connector
which are the ones you will find in the README.md.
The copy cmd generates the config for your site so yes, my lucky guess
was I renamed it to my SOGo server's public URL.

In the file
custom//chrome/content/sogo-connector/general/custom-preferences.js
I did the following

  demo: force_char_pref("sogo-connector.baseURL",
"https://demo.sogo.nu/SOGo;);
  mySOGoserver: force_char_pref("sogo-connector.baseURL",
"https://www./SOGo");

then I ran the build commands and zipped the stuff back into the XPI file.

For that worked in the sense that Thunderbird found my calendars and my
address book. What didn't work though:

- Not the full address book was synced (according to Ludovic that is due
to a bug in Thunderbird; there is a workaround using SOGo 5.0.1 and the
latest SOPE version. That *did not* fix it for me!)
- I cannot edit calendar entries in Thunderbird; when saving an entry I
get the message that it recently was changed on the server and if I want
to reload or safe anyways. Saving does not work after either.

So for now I stick with T68 and the working environment, happy to test
the "new" stuff though as well.

Pardon the newbie questions...

What are the steps involved to create an XPI from the Connector code
currently available on Github?  I'm used to modifying the "demo" XPI
to suit our environment, but this appears to be a completely different
process than I have done in the past.  I cloned the repo (pretty
standard), but where do I go from there? The instructions in README.md
state that I should "cp -a custom/sogo-demo custom/mysite".  Does
"mysite" need to be set to something specific?  Does it need to be the
fully-qualified URL of my SOGo server, or something else?  The
instructions also state that I should "customize the
sogo-connector.baseURL value" in
"custom/mysite//chrome/content/sogo-connector/general/custom-preferences.js".
However, I do not see "sogo-connector.baseURL" in this file.  I see
compilation instructions for SOGo itself in the Wiki, but I can't find
instructions for compiling the Thunderbird Connector.

Thanks for any direction you can provide to me!

That's because of a Thunderbird bug. You must use the latest version
(5.0.1 and +) of SOGo *and* SOPE.

Hi Ludovic,
thanks for your quick reply.  I am using a cloud server with Ubuntu
16.04.7. The latest packages I am offered are:

sogo 5.0.1.20201103-1
sope 4.9.r1664.20201103

So in my case is sope causing the issue?

Re: [SOGo] Unknown column 'c_hascertificate' in 'field list'

Hi,

same issue here. I found the change in the GIT log

Plus a script which included the changes

root@localhost:/usr/share/doc/sogo# grep c_hascertificate *
sql-update-3.2.10_to_4.0.0-mysql.sh:# 3- add the c_hascertificate column

root@localhost:/usr/share/doc/sogo#
root@localhost:/usr/share/doc/sogo# ./sql-update-3.2.10_to_4.0.0-mysql.sh
Username (root): X
Hostname (127.0.0.1):
Database (sogo): X
This script will ask for the database password twice
Converting c_content from TEXT to LONGTEXT in the sogo_user_profile table
Converting c_mail from VARCHAR(255) to TEXT in Contacts quick tables
Enter password:
Enter password:

Though I as well did not find a trace of an announcement. Or did I miss
something?

Thanks a lot for your help with this. It is now fixed although I am
still a little surprised to find this being added without announcement
(?) or I am searching for documentation in the wrong areas.

Thanks again.

It seems that a new column 'c_hascertificate' was added to the

I was able to resolve this issue by manually adding a column 'c_hascertificate'
(as INT) to the relevant database.

Hope it helps!

Subject: [SOGo] Unknown column 'c_hascertificate' in 'field list'

Hi all

I have just updated our SOGo to the very latest SOGo nightly build (for
CentOS6), 3.2.10.20180107, hoping to fix a problem that must have started
recently but I am unsure when exactly.

When trying to look at the address book in the SOGo web interface (tested with
various users), the screen will show you the total amount of contacts but
underneath, where the list of contacts should be seen, it looks like it is
trying to refresh but not been able to show any entry.

The SOGo log shows the following:

Jan 08 09:47:03 sogod [3637]: [ERROR] <0x0x7fa98f65f468[GCSFolder]> -[GCSFolder
fetchFields:fetchSpecification:ignoreDeleted:]: cannot execute quick-fetch SQL
'SELECT c_name, c_cn, c_givenname, c_sn, c_screenname, c_o, c_mail,
c_telephonenumber, c_categories, c_component, c_hascertificate FROM . (cut)...
ExecutionFailed REASON:Unknown column 'c_hascertificate' in 'field list'

We have not in any way tried to do something manually with the MySQL database
so I wonder what might be the reason for this?

Any idea or help?

Thanks, Michael
